Current Employee – been working at Morgan McKinley full-time for more than a year
Pros – Career Advancement, Strong Challenging environment, like-minded peers, supportive management team
Cons – Quite administrative compared to other recruitment companies due to volumes of work coming through
Advice to Senior Management – To continue to develop the talent that is in the business, and to continue all planning and strategy as it's certainly working
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Morgan McKinley as a contractor for less than a year
Pros – Great People, Great Benefits, Great Company, Truly International. Teams are great at communicating to one another. I wouldn't have changed a thing! Wish I could've stayed longer!
Cons – The hours can be long & I would see that as a con, but it was my choice to work those hours. Maybe to have a little more direction on how other staff report to Marketing team, rather than turning up on your desk/phone/email chat.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep it up!

Pros – Morgan McKinley is a great company to work for and with. There are some very very talented people in the organisation. People are not micro-managed they are 'led' in many cases though not all.
At Morgan McKinley you get autonomy and if you have an opinion or an idea that you are willing to share you will be listened to.
Work here if you want to make a difference and not just be an employee.
Cons – However the sales culture that is recruitment means that sometimes communication can be flawed.
I see a very high staff turnover however that is expected in recruitment but it means there are inconsistencies with how we present ourselves.
Training and development could be improved
I think the general working hours in the London office should be shorter
Advice to Senior Management – More creativity and collaboration.

Former Employee – worked at Morgan McKinley full-time for less than a year
Pros – Compared to other agencies Ive worked for, Morgan McKinley had nothing special to offer.
Office in Dublin has lots of natural daylight. I suppose that was a pro
Cons – 100% micro managed.
Very high levels of administration tasks to complete for example being required to do two reference checks on every single candidate interviewed if they were placed or not.
Unbelievable amounts of KPI's to meet including - no. of phonecalls. no. of internal interviews, no. of CV send outs, no of business development calls, no of speculative CVs sent, no. of client meetings, no of references completed, no. of new jobs acquired, no of candidate interviews.
Meetings about meetings.
Weak middle management team.
Extremely high levels of new business development required.
Personally I had ethical questions about some information stored about candidates including defamatory opinions and a 'do not use' button based on some consultants personal opinions about a candidates appearance or personality. This was used a lot on the desk I worked.
Management constantly looking for 'flexiblity' in terms of hours of work but not willing to give same flexibility back. For example, I worked until 7pm most evenings but when I requested an early lunch break to attend a doctors appointment I was asked why I couldn't change the appointment to after working hours and was 'awarded' the early break begrudgingly.
Some of the management team acted very unprofessionally by making personal remarks during the weekly 'performance reviews'
Advice to Senior Management – Start treating consultants and support staff like grown ups - Hope that a candidate doesnt some day request a copy of some of the information stored about them and sue you for defamation of character

Current Employee – been working at Morgan McKinley full-time
Pros – Excellent earning potential for top performers
Really good culture
Great leadership team
Cons – The fast pace of the environment may not suit everyone - it is certainly not a 9-5 job so flexibility required.

Former Employee – worked at Morgan McKinley part-time for more than a year
Pros – Very advanced employer, great on marketing, social recruitment, excellent training programme.
Cons – Starting to change to become too KPI focused, business model moving to be more like a REED employment sadly.
Advice to Senior Management – Don't become a REED hold onto that high quality independent agency culture - you will attract more experienced consultants that way.

Former Employee – worked at Morgan McKinley full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Great I.T. good systems to work on and run by people interested in making a difference to your job Really good marketing department with good ideas that supported the business.
Cons – Morgan McKinley wants to be like Michael Page, Robert Half, Badenoch and Clarke or Investigo. The problem is that as they don't have the ability to persuade large stellar clients to recruit on their behalf then the very best candidates only come to Morgan McKinley as maybe their 8th or 9th choice if at all. The recruitment consultants are mostly supposed to find vacancies for themselves by representing the odd decent candidate they manage to meet to everyone in their local area. When a company is interested in the candidate they usually also need a comparison for interview. This is really when Morgan McKinley just cannot compete, as the bigger and better agencies have all those candidates.
It's chicken and egg but they have no chance in a job market that is flooded by good candidates while they still don't have the candidates.
They base success on other company achievement and "performance manage" to those standards. There is no useful advice when a consultant fails. There is massive staff turnover.
Advice to Senior Management – Stop trying to be something you aren't. Grow slowly and treat people fairly. Try to keep staff. Getting graduates to do a difficult sales role isn't fair if even experienced staff can't meet your expectations.
