    Pros

You work amongst a group of highly intelligent individuals which is great because you're literally working with some of the brightest minds in the business. They're also very big on diversity

    Cons

There can be a lot of unsaid restructuring which can cause you to become disoriented because you will no longer be employed by this company.

I have been working at Morgan Stanley Investment Management full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very professional, structured. Smart people. Client focused environment. Many senior people are approachable and have an open door policy. Culture slowly changes the better, forced by Morgan Stanley corporate leadership.

    Cons

No talent retention, high turnover in critical functions, results in lost knowledge. Very slow decision making. Some employees openly admit that they don't invest any extra efforts into their jobs. Perception of net sales lag significantly from potential. Extremely political.

    Advice to Management

Management is not credible and disconnected from reality. Keeping the best people helps to service clients even better! Also, you need to motivate the existing people to stay and do everything they can for the clients. Otherwise the smartest people will constantly leave and you will end up with the ones that can't leave. Engaged and client focused talent differentiates businesses from being just good to being one of the best.

    Pros

Good cafeteria, lots of freedom, lots of personal space. I was also given access to their testing servers for new software.

    Cons

My relationship with my boss was really strained. He was uptight and harassed me after the first month. He only let up after I aced a presentation to his boss.

    Advice to Management

Don't put so many Highschool interns in one place. We'll work harder a little split up and we see each other at lunch any way.
