    Uneventful

Compliance Analyst (Former Employee) Jersey City, NJ

ProsA paycheck. If you are looking for just a paycheck, and "moving up the corporate ladder" is not a major concern, this is the ideal place for you.
Management in various departments is quite fluent in doublespeak.

ConsThe company has very few (if any) formal learning opportunities for employees that are below VP. Contrary to popular belief, employees are not given preferential treatment for posted positions. MS would rather hire from outside first.

DO NOT FILL OUT THE "ANONYMOUS EMPLYEE SURVEYS.

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat employees with the same respect you expect.

Although I am annoyed about being part of a "reduction in force", that does not make my statements any less factual.

    good name, poor work environment

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Jersey City, NJ

ProsMorgan Stanley has a great name that is recognized world wide. People are impressed with the name and since you work for such a well know financial firm it is easier to get interviews with other big name companies.

ConsExpectations are high and compensation is low. This firm does not look at you as individual human beings, they look at you as replaceable. They are also not concerned with customer service at all. They claim that this is of most importance, but actions speak louder than words. They do not reward for high levels of skill and customer service.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay your employees what they are worth or there will continue to be serious job turnover
