I worked at Morris Architects
Pros – They pay slightly more than the other similar sized architecture firms in the area. They get off at noon on Fridays, which is nice because pretty much every firm in the city you are already going to be working 9 hrs a day M-Th. They pay for license exams, give bonuses for getting licensed, and have some pretty fun company culture type things from time to time. fairly up to date with regards to technology/software/sustainable philosophy.
Cons – They have ethically questionable hiring and firing practices (to put it kindly). Do not be lured in by above average salary compared to competitors. Upper level/management simply does not care about you and rather blatantly and shamelessly uses you. Extremely limited on outlet to contribute. Very bad favoritism and it's not based on merit at all. No room for advancement. Practically no mentorship/tutelage. Many of the managers are just flat out astonishingly mean, rude people. They have a tendency to latch on to a very small number of people and glorify them to death (again, not particularly based on merit).
Advice to Senior Management – you have nice perks but they come across as quite superficial. if you want your younger staff to be productive and vibrant, engage them, teach them, guide them. Don't treat them so blatantly like robots. A little kindness goes a long way.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
