Morris Material Handling - a great place to work!

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThey have the most knowledgeable people working for MMH and are a customer service driven company. They treat each other with respect and value hard work.

ConsThe nature of the business can be stressful, but it's par for the course. You are on call 24/7, but company provides cell phone for after hours business.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement is doing a great job and should be commended for their efforts in turning the company around in our recession. Keep the focus on the customers and make sure you reward your outstanding employees/

Morris is only a career stepping stone

    Engineer (Former Employee)
    New Berlin, WI

ProsThere are a lot of employees that have a great deal of knowledge in their field. The employees are friendly and very forthcoming with information if you ask (but you have to ask). Once you break the initial barrier, you can learn a lot in that field because a great deal of that field was developed there and copied by other companies.

ConsThe knowledge base is nearing retirement and not being replaced. It would seem they are more willing to hire from the outside than promote from within. Much of the design is already set in stone and difficult to change. They have two reasons for doing things the way they are done..."that's the way the guy did it before me" and "that's the way we've always done it".

Advice to Senior ManagementBegin hiring people to be mentored by the people you have before that knowledge and experience is lost to retirement.
