Great promotional opportunities but easy to get lost in such a large company. .

I have been working at Morrison Healthcare full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Professional development opportunities, continuing education, skill development, stable company

    Cons

Easy to get lost and go unnoticed. Some RVPs struggle to connect with their regional teams and lack strong leadership skills.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve onboarding process (currently MD-1 falls short and offers a lacking impression of the company); promote professionals to RVP only when they possess all skills (leadership skills included) necessary to lead a region of business.

I have been working at Morrison Healthcare full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

They offered a $50,000 death benefit for about $8.00. I received a decent raise and they provided chef coats.

    Cons

They were very demeaning to the entire crew. The chefs spent 3 days making a snack for 100 staff. They never provided any training, or had any meetings to explain their menus or procedures. No par-stock, no recipes, no communication.

Poor benefits, no payed holidays . After one year the contract will not be renewed. A complete waste of time, as far as I'm concerned.

As someone who has been in foodservice for 40 years I found Morrison senior living very unprofessional.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide training for your staff by hiring good trainers, not by Wolfgang Puck wannabes.
Your promoters do a great job of selling your services, too bad you never follow through on any of it.

I worked at Morrison Healthcare full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Good benefits, weeks vacation after a year. Can be fun when the boss is in a good mood.

    Cons

Managers only concerned about keeping their job. You will be subject to working in lots of different positions daily and you will never have a specific position. If you are good at something, you will be sent somewhere else and then returned later. You should try and keep you're head in your work and ignore the stuff going on all around you at this location, it's pretty bizarre.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your workers, sometimes they see things you can't.

I worked at Morrison Healthcare full-time

    Pros

Any position at director or above it great!

    Cons

They will work you like a slave and pay you even less. A culture of exclusion. A ton of drama and deceit at the the top, which "tinkles" down on the front line management. No comradery among management. Every man/woman for their self, unless you are a part of the many clicks. Learn to kiss a lot of tail and eat a lot of crow and you can be successful here. Honestly the sorriest company I every worked for... No work life balance. Expect to work about 12-16 hour days if you are salaried. Few opportunities for growth, but tons of promises to go around. Growth and development consists of watching tons of videos, which is normally last minute because the Director has a deadline. The mentor program is a joke...

I have been working at Morrison Healthcare full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

There is a lot of encouragement to advance even from the interview. Management can be helpful when it comes to getting to a higher position if your willing to put in the work. The environment is more casual than most as well.

    Cons

If and when you do decide that you want to advance, it might be difficult to hold the attention of certain managers and have them take you seriously if you are not consistently reminding them of your desire to advance. You almost have to stay on them and sometimes it might seem that your working a little too hard for them to take you seriously.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If someone expresses interest in advancement, pay attention to their level of commitment and which position they are requesting to fill. Then actually try and work with them to fill in the gaps and eliminate guess work for your employees. Be honest and forth coming with the availability of the positions desirable of the employee.
