    Good Stepping stool for growth

    Assistant (Former Employee)
    Fort Worth, TX

ProsGreat work schedule, decent pay (especially for the job), family environment in some sections, really fun work days, decent paid time off, flexible schedules, and nice coworkers

Consdepends where you work, but the database is rather old, and sometimes can be a little bit too informal or not professional

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Worst job I ever had

    Inside Sales (Former Employee)

ProsGood happy hour drinking after work. They typically drink after work every day in the warehouses at a lot of locations.

ConsDead end job. Pay is terrible. No room to advance. Management uneducated and inexperienced. Do not value employees. Not a place for women to work they are treated liked objects. Also counter sales employees not allowed to sit down.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire managers who are educated and experienced. Stop prejudice attitude toward women.

New Ownership Same Old Good Ole Boy Network

    Middle Manager (Former Employee)

ProsCorporate Leadership In Fort Worth Focused on Acquisitions and Growth

ConsLocal Management is not aware that the year is 2013. Some of the things I experienced first hand: Top Sales Person X cannot attend customer trip because he is too "Christian", Female Manager cannot be promoted because "we have our leadership meetings at the deer camp, not sure how she will fit in", Male managers have offsite private meetings over dinner with young female employees in lieu of reprimand for excessive absences from work, Manager asks direct report to find white warehouse workers because "There is not enough cream in the coffee", Manager shows direct report female a picture of his genitals on his cell phone, Male Manager pays for breast augmentation for female employee

Advice to Senior ManagementChip Hornsby you are a dynamic industry leader, the people that you have in senior management in East Texas will forever tarnish your reputation. Look closely at these "Good Ole Boys" They could seriously jeopardize your future.

Get the experience you need and run. You will not go anywhere unless youre a white male "good ol boy"

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Fort Worth, TX

ProsLaid back atmosphere and good party crowd (happy hour and making work friends)

ConsThis company is very protective of the few white males who are southern "good ol boys". They are very conservative republicans, so if thats your thing, by all means.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet in line with HR policy. If you dont, youll eventually flush the entire company down the drain on one bad law suit.

A fun Non-corporate place to work, but little chance to move up within the company

    Sales Representative (Former Employee)
    Houston, TX

ProsWorking with clients and developing relationships within the community allowed me to build a lasting portfolio of targets for future business applications. This is a relaxed corporate structure that allows each market segment to determine its individual needs and relate to each geographical market as necessary. Great job for someone just out of college.

ConsPoor benefits on 401k match; There are very few opportunities to move up within the company which shows because there are hardly ever any performance reviews or pay raises. So initially, ask for desired salary for the length of time you want to stay with the company at hire; poor/little training from corporate on company software and procedures or on company values/visions. Occassional weekends are required.

Management does not communicate with each other.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsPay is good if you are in the circle of the few select. Good for people that want to work in a friendly enviroment.

ConsLittle or no training. Managers do not communicate with each other causing confusion of what is communicated to employees. Construction enviroment and language.

Advice to Senior ManagementCommunicate with each other before presenting policy to employees. Learn all aspects of your job so you don't have to depend on others to get your job done.
