    Pros

Great people to work with on all aspects and everyone is willing to help

    Cons

Pay is never enough for the harassment of borrowers but that is the usual.

    Pros

Good rates and programs. Health Insurance.

    Cons

upper management is very unprofessional. very "small family" politics. high producing loan officers are untrained or indifferent, and are babied so that they dont have to adapt to new environments. compliance staff and training division are either overworked or inept - lots of half projects that get launched without being de-bugged. technology is disjointed. operations staff is undervalued and underpaid, and loan procedure is not streamlined - too many hands working on each project and not communicating with each other so work is repeated and done inefficiently. No one is empowered to make decisions, so even simple things bottleneck at upper management and are never resolved. very little communication between ops and sales training teams, and what is communicated is often conflicting. hiring and advancement seems to be linked to physical appearance, family connection, or popularity and not based on talent, which causes low morale and resentment. this used to be a very good company and there are still some very talented staff there; it is a shame to see it fall apart.

    Advice to Management

train your loan officers. punish them if they do not comply with regulations, rather than hiring underpaid assistants to clean up their sloppiness. do not allow unprofessional interactions among your staff - yelling, swearing, bullying do not belong in a professional office. strive for a better trained workforce - and pay them what they are worth. do not grow faster than you can manage. improve your technology and marketing (which is non-existant other than outsourced and very unprofessional looking fliers and emails). empower your staff to make decisions and back them up when they do. do not require 6 under-trained people to make one decision - train one person well, and allow them to make that decision and move on. strive to eliminate the inefficiency. communicate better, and reward people that help you do that. hire only people that are willing to read large quantities of written material and can comprehend that information quickly - not everyone has that skill set, but it is very important in underwriting.

    Pros

The staff I worked with were great!

    Cons

Some of the loan officers need to be trained better when it comes to what documents are needed from clients... this was the only complaint I ever heard from staff

    Advice to Management

Don't just let go of good talent... find efficient alternatives.

    Pros

Good people work there. The employees who work there are the best thing about this company. The employees are exploited and under-appreciated, and they strive to achieve under difficult conditions anyway.

    Cons

Sweatshop, poor management. Company culture has a lack of ethics and morality. Employees are expected to work overtime and not be paid for it.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees better - it is important for long-term health and success of any company.

    Pros

Gain experience if you are looking to get into correspondent mortgage lending

    Cons

No appreciation for hard work and an awful benefits package. Upper management makes sure that there are paid handsomely while all other operations staff are considerably underpaid.

    Advice to Management

Reward your employee with more benefits and pay could be substantially increased

    Pros

You learn the mortgage industry and work with a lot of nice people.

    Cons

Never appreciated/acknowledge for hard work, under compensated, over worked, gives horrible raises (if any) & has poorly managed departments.

    Advice to Management

Employees need praise for their hard work, reasonable hours, appropriate compensation/raises and better managed depts to make things run smoother.

    Pros

job security, learn great people skills (communication via phone, email, in-person, etc...), fun people to work with for the most part.

    Cons

very rarely praised for hard work and/or putting in many hours of OT. Constantly belittled by management in front of co-workers. low morale. work very hard so that sales men can make their commission, but the sales men do little to no work (VERY frustrating!!!)

    Advice to Management

Instead of always finding things to criticize and fix, offer some praise for a job well done. Acknowledge all the hard work put in instead of focusing on one little mistake/error that can be fixed. Treat people with respect and do not reprimand employees in public areas.
