Mosaic Company Shift Supervisor in Carlsbad, NM:   (Current Employee)

Pros

They have one of the best professional development training programs for salaried professionals I have heard of. They pay well and have good benefits. They contribute to the local community a great deal. Most of the senior leadership is available and helpful.

Cons

The site is remote and difficult to live in. The culture presents many challenges. Sometimes there is a disconnect between what is said and what is done between management and hourly employees. The best candidates for positions does not always get them due to the union seniority rules. Many very high seniority employees feel entitled to special treatment.

Advice to Senior Management

Hold people more accountable for their jobs. Too many are simply coasting by.

Mosaic Company Anonymous in Tampa, FL:   (Past Employee - 2008)

Pros

Mosaic is very laid-back and overall has a good work/life balance.

Cons

There are loads of employees at Mosaic that have been with the company for so long that they have no idea what is considered good business practices in the current world. Mosaic has little interest in change to improve efficiencies or improve in general. There are few members of management that has what it takes to challenge the status quo. They are often part of the been-there-way-too-long problem.

Advice to Senior Management

Bring in fresh blood, especially at your operational divisions. Senior corporate management should be challenging decisions made at the operational management levels to make sure there are sound foundations for the decisions being made. It often seems like the operational management runs the corporate management.
