I worked at Mosaica Education full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great regional and local education and management professionals who were truly committed to quality K-12 education and providing highly effective management services.

    Cons

Senior Executives lost sight of the mission, and though the management team sustained the company and, by extension, local schools; the sins of the seniors created a tsunami that could not save the company.

    Advice to Management

For their failure to see the inevitable, the people responsible for the demise of this company should keep out of K-12 education management... forever.

I have been working at Mosaica Education full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Freedom to teach unrestricted, collaborate freely with co-workers on what is best for the students and actually get to implement it. I absolutely loved my co-workers and the faculty as a whole, especially my boss

    Cons

Pay is less than what high school graduates makes, with no track to really increase it any. Overworked with 12 hour days being the normal but its ok for the company because we are set salary. I was the 4/5th grade teacher, recess monitor, PE teacher, lunch aide, after school coordinator, and coach

I worked at Mosaica Education full-time

    Pros

Fun coworkers, great students, holiday schedule.

    Cons

Company focused on squeezing profits instead of increasing student learning.

    Advice to Management

Consider ways to provide teacher incentives instead of a revolving door.

    Pros

During the last 5 years of existence under the current TOP leadership, bad business decisions were made. They have now been bought out by Pansophic Learning.

    Cons

Some schools will not go with the new owners leaving the families wondering what will happen to the school with no educational management team guidance in place.

I enjoy working with the families and students they make it worthwhile.

    Pros

The pro for working at this location is watching the students blossom with learning opportunities and the creative voice they are allowed to display whether on paper, thru skits, dance, etc.

    Cons

Salaries are not in the same league as the public schools.

    Advice to Management

The best advice I could give management is to meet with and talk to them on a professional level not hearsay. Another piece of advice for management is to offer a competitive salary to all employees so turnover rates will decrease.

I worked at Mosaica Education full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The overall mission of the job which is educating K-8 students is wonderful but the ways that they attempt to get it done is woeful and therefore they miss the mark.

    Cons

As a regular corp employee, if you are not close and under the “arm pit” of senior management, your ideas and views are not considered. Corporate employees work long hours. Regular employees do not get bonuses. High level VPs get bonuses even though the business they lead did not make money and even lost money. Raises are hard to get as a regular employee. High level VPs will get bonuses even though the business they lead was not profitable. Teachers work very long hours and the pay is not justified. They work in “tough” neighborhoods with very little or no corporate support.

    Advice to Management

Top level executive should be changed to spark new life into a floundering business. Better management decisions as to the clients that they serve should be reconsidered and dropped to eliminate the financial shortfalls. Branch offices that are not serving the company’s bottom line should be eliminated.

    Pros

Office culture is very collaborative; there is a team spirit; company offers good work-life balance. Leadership has clear vision of the future

    Cons

Company does not have a lot of financial resources, everyone is expected to work very hard. Sometimes travel is expected on short notice.

    Advice to Management

Leadership institute needs to be reinstated; should further grow international business

    Pros

Great opportunity to provide quality education to children who would otherwise have no choice in education.

    Cons

Limited support, 200 contact days is unrealistic

    Advice to Management

Develop a stronger system of support for the school based employees.
