I have been working at Mosaica Education

    Pros

Career advancement, lost of support when you ASK, Creative curriculum, staff development

    Cons

You often have to ASK as much is assumed, the longer school year is great for kids, but makes for a very short summer, low pay compared to other districts/models

  2.

    Lackluster at best

I worked at Mosaica Education full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

It was a job. The other teachers and some of the staff were great.

    Cons

So many, it's hard to know where to start. Low Pay, no support, no supplies, no attandance at IEPs by adminstraiton then we were told to lie about it, told not to list any additonal services even if they were required, behaviror rules not enforced or did not even exist, adminstrations could not care about the teachers or the students, teachers were told they could EASILY be replaced so either "you will get on my bus, or you will be run over by my bus", principle called teachers "too white" and where not re-hired even when students loved them, if students played sports they could still play even if their grades were ALL failling grades. Then would could talk about the tricks they played on teachers, stealing out of teachers desks and bags on camera, but student were not suspended becuase "white" teachers were the ones they played the tricks on....and they were only for "fun".

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat people the way you want to be treated, support your staff and help them do their job. PAY them better, and provide books and paper.

    Pros

    Flexible work schedules. Free coffee.

    Cons

No recognition for work performed; no interest or demonstrated commitment to process improvement in back room support functions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Three words: communication, communication, communication. My office has no formal communication process; not for new hires, not for company status, not for sharing success stories.

I worked at Mosaica Education full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    Helpful P/R department--above and beyond;

    Cons

True leadership and dedication to quality school improvement not apparent at the division level; no departmental support--except payroll. Field leadership needs organization and focus. Disrespectful treatment of employees by specific field management--public and private. Lack of professionalism and professional integrity. No direction, project plan, or even a job description. No support from division management. Lack of communication in the field.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Refocus to your roots and rediscover the integrity that made Mosaica a highly respected member of the education community. Treat employees with respect. Pay attention to what is going on in the field.

    I worked at Mosaica Education

    Pros

This is a company that was founded by entrepreneurs, thus they are open and insightful to employee input and growth.

    Cons

Sometimes communication isn't as structured as it could be.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote structured communication more often. I don't believe there is any internal communication position. Thus employees aren't always in the loop.
