    Pros

There are great opportunities to grow and excel. The people at Moss Adams are intelligent, talented and hard workers. There are several career paths and opportunities to advance your career.

    Cons

This is public accounting which means long hours and difficulty balancing personal and professional commitments. The firm is very transparent, however, in communicating the hours requirements and professional commitment.

I worked at Moss Adams LLP full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Successful company, fun work events, big office in Portland, OR so lots of co-workers (don't get sick of them and get to learn a lot.)

    Cons

Work way to hard and way to often year-round (not just in busy season.) It is expected that you work ridiculous amounts, and you don't feel appreciated. People don't always get promoted when they should and it becomes a popularity game.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give people a break! Don't be so judgmental with those that actually want a work/life balance.

    Pros

It is interesting job, I always get a lot of challenging assignments. PTO is 200 hours/year. My partner is very supportive of additional training, new ideas for services we provide.

    Cons

There is no a balanced life at all. We don't have time to take our PTO hours' with PTO policy "use it or loose it", it sucks.
Bonus matrix has not been relevant for the last of couple of years.

I have been working at Moss Adams LLP

    Pros

Great management in the Portland office; however, can range to very poor in other offices. Great people to work with. Huge opportunities if you can adjust to the culture.

    Cons

Pay and benefits are low. If you get on someone's wrong side, it can mean the end. If you want to get on, you have to work some long hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase pay to be comparable to other in the industry. Improve benefits, especially the 401k matching. Be a little more inclusive of all levels, not just manager up.

Moss Adams - Respected, good career, poor benefits.

I have been working at Moss Adams LLP

    Pros

Moss Adams is a respected firm, and it is growing. There are opportunities for advancement, and it is a good place to have a career. If you are interested in a particular industry group, there is opportunity to do that. The bigger offices in the Northwest (Seattle, Portland) are well established and feel like a Big 4 firm. Smaller offices in the northwest (Yakima, Eugene, Medford, etc) feel like a small CPA firm. California is the firm's growth market, and has a lot of opportunities for growth if you are ambitious and enjoy selling. The consulting and internal audit groups are growing, and have not nearly saturated their target market given the overall size of the firm.

    Cons

The Moss Adams benefits package is poor. While vacation for client service personnel is good (5 weeks PTO), retirement doesn't start until year 3, and even then it is only 4% profit sharing. Health care premiums are also not subsidized as much as similar companies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve the benefits package. Setup "hoteling" space for staff & seniors to work.
