Pros
The company is very stable and generally, a pleasant environment. There are some nice perks and the benefits package is decent. As much as a professional services firm can, they try to accommodate work-life balance and flexibility, although the bottom line is still that you must work a lot to be considered a high performer. Firm leadership is aware of concerns raised by employees regarding poor communication and attempting to improve that area but it's hard to say how successful they'll be since they've been working on it for a couple years and are still rated poorly in this area.
Cons
Politics are top dog at Moss Adams. If you are 'in' with the right people, you will likely enjoy a positive experience and have normal opportunities to advance. If, however, you are not exactly what department leadership has in mind, your experience will be very different. This is true of any company on some level but at Moss, it's particularly overt. Many of the departments have what employees consider to be toxic levels of favoritism and dysfunction. I'm not ready to say that I wouldn't recommend working here but I would definitely say 'buyer beware'...
Advice to Senior Management
Invest in training your managers - all of your managers - in how to manage people. Even those managers or department heads that firm leadership believe to be excellent managers are really just covering up the issues in their departments. If you hire an outside vendor to speak with all levels of staff, you would find that a lot of people are very unhappy but are just 'stuck' because of the job market or terrified to say anything for fear of retribution.
