    Pros

Learning opportunity, working with energetic group of people, learning from your clients, managers and partners. Partners are approachable. Like the people I worked with. Kept a good network of young professionals.

    Cons

Long hours, not much of work and life balance, typical cons related to big 4 firm applies here too. But you know what you are getting into when making a choice of joining CPA firm.

I have been working at Moss Adams LLP full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

It is interesting job, I always get a lot of challenging assignments. PTO is 200 hours/year. My partner is very supportive of additional training, new ideas for services we provide.

    Cons

There is no a balanced life at all. We don't have time to take our PTO hours' with PTO policy "use it or loose it", it sucks.
Bonus matrix has not been relevant for the last of couple of years.

I have been working at Moss Adams LLP full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

This is a really great work environment - everyone is very willing to work together. I have seen partners sit down with brand new staff to work through a difficult problem or teach them how to approach a job.

    Cons

In general it's the same problem the whole industry has - no matter how hard they try there just isn't much work life balance. Your work has to come first.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I really love the work environment Moss encourages - I love the people I work with and I enjoy the work I do. Just keep working on initiatives like Forum W to help people balance their lives outside work with their job.

I worked at Moss Adams LLP full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Gorgeous offices in downtown Seattle.
    Some great co-workers.
    Learned a lot.

    Cons

    High-stress.
Lots of politics, which means that people who are bad at their jobs continue to be promoted and acknowledged when they don't deserve to be.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please act as advocates for the hard, dedicated workers in the administrative office. Please make an attempt to understand what these people do for a living and acknowledge it in front of the team. Working 80 hour weeks for no recognition or understanding or appreciation is soul-crushing, and your employees will leave. Please not only recognize poor performance, but take action against those that are exhibiting poor performance. Laying someone off without telling them why doesn't help anyone. It costs nothing to say thank you.

Desire to stay with Moss Adams with the lack of concern with work life balance has resulted me in not continuing with Moss Adams/public accounting.

    Pros

Moss Adams cares about its clients and they want their employees to succeed. As a middle-market firm you get lots of experience in different industries, and you have a lot of opportunity to shine by taking initiative.

    Cons

Pressure to work long hours just to look good. Could improve on attitude toward working dads. Can be difficult to maintain a positive attitude.

Address generational gap issues regularly especially in communicating and awarding.

I have been working at Moss Adams LLP

    Pros

People at Moss Adams are extremely bright and intelligent. You are surrounded by competent, hardworking professionals who will help you build and develop your career.

    Cons

There is an unwritten guideline which is strictly followed by management about promotions and advancements based solely on the number of busy seasons worked at the firm. This leads to some people promoted too early and others too late.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to base promotions on performance on the job, not strictly years of service.
