I worked at Moss Motors full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Unlike many car dealerships, the sales staff at Moss tended to stick around for years. It was fast paced, competitive, and success-driven. Yet it also felt like family. We all made money, and had fun doing it.

    Cons

After Jay Moss passed away, the company culture became far more corporate. Sometimes, quality customer care was sacrificed in order to follow newly established protocol. Rules are necessary. But satisfying customers is essential, as is retaining to-producers in the sales staff. The overly structured process sometimes defeated its purpose.

I have been working at Moss Motors full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

This is a conservatively run organization which has helped to maintain the health, and even prosperity of the business through the recent recession. A majority of the management team has been with the company for 20+ years which speaks to the company's stability and the dedication of it's employees.

    Cons

There's hesitancy to adopt modern marketing and employee relations philosophies. A lack of willingness to support employee development and fostering ideas and recommendations from within can create a defeated atmosphere among staff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Mentoring employees into new roles and responsibilities is necessary to the support the future infrastructure of the organization.

    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
