    Pros

Good benefits, working conditions. Great co-workers who cares and worked hard. Had a few great innovations

    Cons

Management was a mess, no vision. Management on top of management, hard to get things moving, always back and forth with too many process. The management was milking on the Razr's success for too long and never think outside of that.

    Pros

Collaborative teams, good customer base, a lot of new talent. Strong installed base. Taking steps to become a key player once again.

    Cons

Too little to late, have lost of lot of the Engineering and design talent that made us successful at one time. Always lagging a few steps behind the competition vs the times when Motorola was the leader and the innovator.

    Pros

Motorola Mobility used to be an awesome place to work. Employees were treated with respect and dignity. The company used to pride itself with treating employees better than its competitors. However, changes in upper management have all but destroyed a once great company.

    Cons

Extremely depressing environment. Employees only just tolerated. Example, the ever present layoffs count employees as "work units" as in: "first quarter, 1,500 work units released." A once wonderful company has been devastated by upper managers only concerned with guaranteeing their own multi-million dollar parachutes. The only money making strategy in the last five years has been to lay off thousands American workers every three months.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Laying off 1,000+ workers per year and then giving multiple upper managers $10+ Million bonuses year after year for "saving money" is both unsustainable and despicable.

I worked at Motorola Mobility full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great technology company with a long history of innovation in cellular technology. Teams are very passionate about their products and are some of the hardest working engineers I know. The talent is very deep and experienced. The recent purchase by Google will fundamentally change the company from an 1990s company to the more modern age, albeit as a much smaller entitiy

    Cons

Management has been slow to keep up with technology trends, until recently when the entire company was split up and purchased by Google. Recent management has been moving very rapidly to reform the company which has caused a culture clash, expected, and a loss of a lot of experience due to down sizing. The challenge will be to keep the company alive while fundamentally changing what it is doing. The reality, is that there is a long way to go before Motorola Mobility will challenge the leaders in the marketplace.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Find a new marketplace.
