    Pros

    Great people to work with!

    Cons

    Maybe too many irons in the fire, too many groups developing code for multiple phone carriers!

    Advice to Management

    If there was some way to streamline the processes so multiple groups aren't inventing the same things at the same time...more knowledge sharing to save time and duplication of effort!

  2. Helpful (1)

    Focused coordinated flexibility in the quality circles of team management, and the lean philosophy.

    Pros

    Flexibility and agile structural-wise and single minded mentality, to achieve and excel without compromises. Very ambitious and driven management style, that occasionally or lose sight of the capabilities and resources, but are positive and supportive, through the project cycle.

    Cons

    Depend too much on short term or temporary solutions, as opposed to developing and bringing in new talent, which potentially could make the difference in needed change, attitude and ideas, sorely needed to fully meet burgeoning demands.

    Advice to Management

    Management has a tendency to not keep an accurate or close tap on necessary resources, personal or skillsets or develop fully, those that are available sometimes are discounted or not fully utilized or engaged for opinions, suggestions or their unique.insights.

    Pros

    Very impressive former corporate HQ's in Libertyville, IL. Nice cafeteria and always getting freebies of Bluetooth headsets (test units).

    Cons

    Very much a grind trying to sell end-of-life Bluetooth accessories.

    Advice to Management

    Allow contract workers to have more of a shot at going perm with the company & to take more calculated risks.

    Pros

    Excellent pay
    Excellent benefits
    Excellent work/flexibility arrangements (come in later/earlier; work from home when needed)
    Great opportunities to build skills up until the last 2-3 years.

    Cons

    Too much sexual conversations out loud in work areas
    The more layoffs occurred, the the more toxic the environment (back-stabbing)
    Flirting and sexual harassment accepted (if you don't participate you are an outsider)
    No work-life balance; you must be available over lunch, after hours and on weekends

    Advice to Management

    Breathe, relax, then bring back camaraderie
    Need a 360 feedback loop to get feedback on middle management & project leaders the same way you get feedback on working level
    Don't always trust the words of the person closest to you (or always smiling in your face), they may have a motive for what they say
    What promotion?

    Pros

    - Work with potentially cutting edge products;
    - Good salary;
    - Good benefits;
    - Good new location;
    - Many, many hard-working teams, many talented engineers;
    - Ability to test out some great products;

    Cons

    - Leadership is completely self-centered, doesn't want to look outside and see what others are doing;
    - Criticism is completely out of question, even the most obviously stupid management decisions are met with ovation;
    - There is no life-work balance as a principle 24/7 is expected of everyone, and anything else is considered as a bad work ethics;

    Advice to Management
