    Extremely dissatisfied, please look elsewhere!

    Senior Systems Engineer (Current Employee)
    Schaumburg, IL

ProsThey will provide reimbursement for Masters degree, however you would need to stay with the company around 2-3 years from the date of complertion to waive any fee. best thing is to work their for 2-3 years and then move on.

ConsExtremely poor management, treat junior engineers with disrespect and no recognition for hard work. No raises or promotions for number of years

Advice to Senior ManagementProvide recognition to your employees, give them basic respect, provide raises and promotions according to their hard work and dedication.

    Senior Systems Engineer at Motorola

    Senior Systems Engineer (Former Employee)
    Schaumburg, IL

ProsResearch environment and it is valued

ConsMany middle managers are barely educated, not good at capturing who does the real work.

Advice to Senior ManagementRotate managers often for the health of the company. Otherwise, sycophants get away with less work and more rewards.

    General

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Schaumburg, IL

    ProsGood technical exposure and opportunities

ConsMid/Senior management is not trustworthy either for engineers or for CEO. Its a class of all politics and little work - mostly.

Advice to Senior ManagementClean up your act and not the engineers who really matter. To compete ,think about max 4 level of hierarchy. Recognize, attract and retain talent.

    Working for Motorola

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Schaumburg, IL

ProsMotorola offers good pay and excellent benefits for its employees. In addition, they have a generous medical and dental program.

ConsThe major downside of working for Motorola is that there is never enough resources to get the job down right the first time. In addition, Senior Management is too busy with politics of covering their own butts to care about the people that work for them.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe leaders. Take care of your people. Provide resources to get the job done right the first time. Become a good example to those who work for you.

An old company lacking future vision

    Senior Staff Engineer (Former Employee)
    Schaumburg, IL

ProsSystemic training on how to be a good engineer; a lot of smart co-workers

ConsYou have to move out of Motorola wall to understand the real thing outside -- the faster you move the quicker you career progress.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere is nothing new they haven't heard before. It's the part of big corporate game.
