I worked at Mott MacDonald full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Fully support employees
Encourage employees to better themselves through courses relevant to the position held
Encourage employees to help new employees through mentoring

    Cons

Not sure there were any down sides to working for Mott MacDonald. They were probably the best company I have had the priveledge to work for. The resession forced redundancies otherwise I would still be there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The processes that are carried out during redundancy are engineered so that at review your experiences don't match the criteria. This can be changed for all employees who are facing redundancy.

    Pros

You are allowed to breath whilst at work.

    Cons

Terrible management, bullying is rife and supported by HR - who need replacing. Worst managers in the world - good staff simply leave. Turn over of staff very high due to bullying managers, poor work environment, casual racism, staff being isolated, projects are all over the place due to no real communication or project planning.....company is pretty awful and staff welfare non existent. Unethical approach to business.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper management could not care less about getting advice from it's staff.

Dreadful company. A sluggish behemoth, reluctant to change, (public sector-esque). Inefficient and overrated.

I have been working at Mott MacDonald full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Offices world wide. Some of the most interesting projects are awarded to Motts. Little expectations from the company. Almost impossible to get fired.

    Cons

Little or no innovation. Company values are just a tag line. Career prospects limited unless you are hired at grade E or above. Basic no frills remuneration. Non transparent promotion and career progression policy. Rewarded for years served rather than ability or talent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire non-performing middle management. Moving them sideways is hurting the business. Offer incentives to attract young talent. Don't just accept candidates because they fit the wage profile. Pay peanuts-get monkeys.
