I worked at Mountain Creek Resort part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Lenient on hours and you get to Snowboard or Ski when its slow. Can be very fulfilling and can get some very nice tips depending on the customer. Free Season Pass along with job.

    Cons

Minimum wage and you only get paid for the hours that you are actually teaching. Can be frustrating dealing with customers that wont listen or that have short tempers. Very disorganized from a management standpoint.

I have been working at Mountain Creek Resort full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

There is a lot to learn and develop , great culinary skills, great chef, and great people to work with .

    Cons

The kitchen is very small and both a la cart and banquets are run out of the same kitchen , they need to have a full service banquet kitchen , to cook at a high level

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They need to have separate banquet kitchen , just for banquets

I worked at Mountain Creek Resort

    Pros

I had a lot of fun at this job. A great summer job.

    Cons

Low pay considering all of my responsibilities. Managers were pretty dumb and disrespectful which led to me not wanting to work there anymore.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Clean up your disgusting park

I worked at Mountain Creek Resort part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Free Season Pass, Life guard olympics was fun, the international people are fun to work with. Deep guards are paid 8.50 an hour last i heard

    Cons

-Employees get little to no discount for food,
    - lifeguards have to sit with shorts and a tshirt on- farmers tans aren't great
-life guards are played a lot especially at the wave pool people like to float upside down and when you say something they dont stop
-some guests actually struggle in the deep end of the pool at wave pool and when you jump to help them like your bosses tell you to the guests yell at you
-training for guarding was in spring and the water was about 50 degrees and it was raining
-the working conditions for some positions aren't safe- i fell off of tarzan swing's platform and had to get surgery and workers comp sent me to the most challenged orthopedic drs so my mom said bye
-employees have to walk from the bottom of the hill up to the bridge across the bridge and up another steep hill

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit your job you suck at it seeing as you dont even show your face to the lower ranks of workers like guards

    Pros

Close to home, Free season pass

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try hiring people who can actually do their job, rather than people who have worked there previously and are still almost entirely incompetent.

    Waterpark = High stress

Former Employee - Lead in Vernon, NJ

I worked at Mountain Creek Resort

    Pros

It's a relatively young core of employees who manage the park. Sticking around here for a couple years and getting noticed can bring about leadership/management opportunities.

You get to spend a lot of time outdoors.

Occasionally you get to chase a bear out of the park after closing

    Cons

You get noticed when you do a great job. That being said, promotions are based primarily on favorites. Good employees get promoted but many get overlooked for leadership opportunities if they aren't friends with the manager or supervisors.

This is a high-stress environment. Young employees get some of their first job experience here so you never know what you'll get.

Guests in the waterpark expect everything to be perfect and get irate when problems arise.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Being an expert in the waterpark industry does not necessarily mean you can be an effective manager. Managing is a different atmosphere and should be treated as such. Far too many positions within upper-management are handed to employees for having been with the park an extended period of time.

  9.

    No communication, no respect

I worked at Mountain Creek Resort

    Pros

    Free Season Pass, local location.

    Cons

Lack of communication, no real chance of advancement, lack of leadership, low employee morale and nothing to help alleviate that.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get out of your office and see what's going on around you. Too many management meetings where nothing gets done....ever.
