    Pros

Coworkers were amazing! Everyone was willing to go the extra mile to help each other and the patient's out. Management was always willing to come out and give a helping hand, they really listened to any concerns you had. MSHA was always looking to improve the patient experience and valued nurses imput

    Cons

Frequently short staffed, which could make the job very very stressful. Had issues with Doctors and residents not being responsive enough or being rude.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the hard work!

Miss alot of holidays and family events due to weekend/holiday requirements. Raises are minimal 1% per year.

    Pros

The only positive experience I had was the fellow co-workers. They were terrific to work with everyday.

    Cons

Since Alan Levine was hired by the board this company has gone down hill really fast!! He has continued to increase the executive level. The amount of upper management at the C-level needs to be cut in half. This organization is way too top heavy. Ninety-five percent of the vice-presidents cannot perform the work of their direct reports. They are incompetent and are nothing but suck ups and butt kissers. This health care organization is consumed with greedy and does not care for their employees or patients. The CrestPoint Health (owned by Mountain States) insurance plan offered to the employees is horrible!! No one other than top executives can afford it. The pay is horrible which is not even in the tenth percentile of the national average. The PTO plan and retirement plan is horrible now as well. My advice to anyone looking for a job at this company is to run like hell away from it.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management is cut the c-level drastically, pay your employees a decent wage, give them good health insurance, give them a decent PTO and retirement plans and most importantly listen to them!! Stop being a hypocritical organization that talks about servant leadership but never does it!

    Pros

The best reasons to work here are: 1. Ability to move up in your career 2. Have a feeling of importance when the team is making decisions 3. The ability to see new technologies. 4. Lots of experience on projects from purchasing the equipment to implementing into the network environment. 5. Competitive salary for the area 6. Managers and directors are very nice and down to earth 7. Fairly laid back environment - you have responsibilities, so do them and everyone is happy

    Cons

A few political issues but nothing uncommon with a very large corporation. Definitely nothing to be majorly concerned about. No one likes politics but it's nothing that someone couldn't handle.

    Advice to Management

Not too many suggestions for management. Communication may be better but is sufficient. Management does a great job with keeping the team of all of the items going on. Another great thing about the management is that they will stand up and fight for his/her team during conference calls and etc which shows great leadership and keeps the team close together!

    Pros

Largest healthcare system in the air. Comprised of 15 hospitals serving 29 counties. Includes a level 1 trauma center and children's hospital. Partnered with St Jude, Vanderbilt University.

    Cons

Lowest RN salaries in state of Virginia. Tennessee hospitals pay higher hourly rate than Virginia hospitals. High level of turnover.

    Advice to Management

Take better care of your employees. Many feel taken advantage of and under-appreciated. Pay more attention to living the patient centered care motto and no so much bottom line.
