    Box Office

    Box Office Hostess (Former Employee)
    Hilliard, OH

ProsGreat co-workers, free movies, very flexible with scheduling. Great for a student.

ConsPay is minimum. Management always seem overly stressed at the simplest of problems. Customers can be extremely rude, as seems to be a norm in any type of food establishment. The theater definitely operates more like a restaurant than a movie theater. Movie schedules were often bizarre, with not enough turn around to clean the theater after a sold out show before the next one played. Even if you're box office, they'll have you cleaning theaters and running food. Since the place operates like a restaurant, don't expect to get any breaks or lunches. During summer blockbuster season, it's normal to pull a 10 hour shift with no breaks.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou're professionals. Act like it. People are looking to you for guidance. It looks bad when you're zipping around flailing your arms and proclaiming you have no idea what to do.

Worst Example of Corporate Leadership and Execution

    General Manager (Current Employee)
    Dallas, TX

ProsPay is good and you will learn many new skills involved with running a 50,000 Sq Ft Entertainment Facility.

ConsLeadership at Home Office is fragmented and not aligned. Direction of the company would be better executed by relying on a magic 8 ball than the "strategic" decisions made by corporate.

Advice to Senior ManagementConsider investing in some Devry Institute Basic Business Courses and start holding yourselves accountable.
