I have been working at Moxies Classic Grill

    Pros

Meet a lot of new and different people. Staff become friends due to close working relationships

    Cons

male driven company. Do not promote based on performance rather on who they can control the best. Routinely promote managers with poor people skills and lack of industry knowledge. many people back and front of house have quit due to management, this includes managers quitting..upper management unaware of these issues because it gets covered up and if the store makes money they turn a blind eye

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

pay close attention to your staff and how they are treated. Staff reviews are fake because ppl do not trust that they are anonymous..had high hopes working here, promotion and advancement like advertised

I have been working at Moxies Classic Grill part-time

    Pros

Great first job. Decent price points on menu allow for nice average check size. Flexible scheduling makes this a great place for students.

    Cons

Management tends to lack leadership skills. The people who get stuck get promoted, and this can build a toxic culture. Tipout is high and there is no transparency on where the money goes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Teach your management how to hire properly. Structured interviews and higher standards could fix a lot of issues.

I have been working at Moxies Classic Grill part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Everyone on line I work with is really nice, easy to get along with. We joke around and make working fun. Lots of respect for each other and our own strengths.

    Cons

Lot's of pressure from Managers and Supervisors, high-intensity environment. Keeps you on your toes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Speak clearly and ask for exactly what you want. Be polite as it will go a LONG WAY and you will get what you want faster / better / more efficiently.

I worked at Moxies Classic Grill full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Training, experience, great place to meet great co-workers

    Cons

Unfair staffing levels based on age and sex. Will only allow females to work as a server in the lounge or on the patio at some locations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more open-minded and learn to appreciate staff who have skills rather than give the best sections to the best looking server. I've seen management give the busiest sections to the newest staff only because they were sexy and female, but unfortunately couldn't handle serving more than a few tables. Experienced staff would be stuck with empty sections running all the food out for the 'sexy' server, while the 'sexy' server would make all the tips and the experienced servers would make almost no tips.
