Former Contractor - Project Manager (IT Infrastructure) in Pontiac, MI

I worked at MphasiS as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

Salary and Benefits Package adequate for the opportunity. Work at home time on Fridays a great benefit to those who had to commute long distances

    Cons

Project in competition with a Server Upgrade occurring simultaneously caused issues - projects should have been combined to ensure completion on time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Clear direction on activities would have improved the efforts as well as the overall morale of the employees. Time spent after normal business hours due to availability of Team Members should have been recognized by the Management Team.

I have been working at MphasiS as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

Work remote-was working on Synova contract 2 yrs supporting HP before I was picked up by Mphasis

    Cons

Hired in as full-time employee with set salary and then mgt comes back, after I accept position and decline another permanent job, with "we can only give you contract status" never increased pay for that status. On-boarding was a nightmare, didn't get paid for over 40 days. Supporting HP, 13 months later, received email for project ramp down from Mphasis, funding cut so my last day was 2 weeks. The team and I did not receive a call from manager, only an email!! Also received email that a "resign" notice has been processed. I was cut, I didn't resign. Manager said that it was an automated letter. What a nightmare. I would never again work for this company. WATCH OUT!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a heart!!! No wonder most members on my team quit after 3 months. Turn-over=VERY HIGH. Job in states.

Loyal Leadership, they will always back you if an issue arises with one of your projects.

    Cons

Navigating through the company is somewhat confusing

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees more and they will be more productive. They focus on billing more than anything else.
