    Pros

An ok entry level job for a beginner into the automotive industry. decent bonus structure.

    Cons

poor management, leadership and co-operation from co-workers. too focused on sales than what the customers needs should be

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

closer eye on management and how the company deals with certain issues.

Former Employee - Upper Technician in Saskatoon, SK (Canada)

    Pros

Decent place to learn, perhaps get your foot in the door if any kind of mechanic work interests you. They do give proper training. The hours are quite flexible.

    Cons

Very high stressed sales environment. If you cant sell under pressure, don't consider the position. Upper management was very inappropriate, not a job I would recommend to any woman. Never felt comfortable. Also, it was a very fast paced environment, always 'GO, GO GO'. With a never ending flow of cars sometimes and no time to breathe. Very repetitive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have some character and decent management skills. Harassment, whether sexual, physical or verbal isn't appropriate, anywhere.

Current Employee - Upper/Lower Technician in Toronto, ON (Canada)

    Pros

Work hours are very flexible for those of you wanting to work part time and study.
Great way to learn how to deal with irrate customers and learn sales tactics.

    Cons

Horrible upper management. They micro manage their employees, berate and over work the managers who in turn take it out on the rest of the staff. Unrealistic sales expectations. Totally unreasonable schedules for full time employees. Erratic hours that often lead to early and unpaid dismissal if it's slow. Never a fixed schedule so shifts vary week to week. You often have to fight tooth and nail to get any sort of planned vacation or time off, no matter how early you book or give notice. Taking sick days involves speaking to upper management and fighting back and forth while they convince you to come in and how it's unacceptable for them. Constant, belligerent abuse of employee work rights and labour laws. No overtime and constant pay errors.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook

Current Employee - Marketing - Senior Staff in Mississauga, ON (Canada)

    Pros

Believes in "one life" where you work and live at the same time so very flexible and not clockwatching. Great team environment and open communication is supported and encouraged. A lot of creativity in approach is allowed and it's obvious that every single person truly cares about the company's success and the people who make it all happen.

    Cons

Some systems and processes are a little out of date so most new initiatives are an uphill climb. A bit less sense of urgency than exists in other corporate environments.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing what they're doing. When employees are secure in the knowledge that the Executives have the company, the staff and the customers' best interest at heart it really gives incentive to do good work and put in the effort.

    Pros

Very structured training program. Good hands-on experience and training in oil change procedures and vehicle preventative maintenance operations. Good entry-level position to the automotive maintenance field. Can be profitable if you are an excellent salesperson.

    Cons

Very high pressure-sales environment. Sales numbers trump all other values. Very low base wage if you are not making bonus commission from high sales.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increased base wage and more effective comission/bonus structure.

    Pros

Amazing flexibility. Company always tried to work around my schedule.
Good Environment. It was always a fun job, great staff, and focus on customer relations

    Cons

Pay. The company payscale has a top end limit that isn't very high, and once your there, you cannot get any increases in pay, for where I was the top end was $15/hr

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would like to see an incentive program brought back in at the Edmonton Locations. Employees work harder when they can actually get improvements in pay, job, etc.
