Recognize our weaknesses, plan our attack, and then do something completely different

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Salt Lake City, UT

ProsThe cookies smell great and the turnover is so high there's always the prospect of moving up the ladder, whether you're capable or not.

ConsCulture - Everyone knows it's a problem, but it's what we know. We're more comfortable with low morale than the thought of doing what it takes to fix it.

Promote from within - Sounds great until you realize nobody here has the real world skills to fulfill the job they've been given and that all the real talent left or was run out years ago. Most left don't have related educations and few have work experience outside this company.

Prices are too high - Nobody wants to pay $3 for a cookie through the mail, but we're locked in to those prices because we've sold out to our partners who are our only real source of revenue.

Ownership - The ownership group places a priority on getting their money back. Not product quality, not employee happiness, nothing else. This leads to a cut throat environment where everyone is doing what they can to not be in the next round of cost savings and makes attempts at team and morale building a joke - even with those organizing them. "Go along to get along" will not get this company out of the mess it's in, but it does ensure they will get a lot of work out of us for as little as they can pay.
