    Pros

Years ago I worked Staff Development at Mt San Antonio College under Dck (Richard) Ryerson.
The people I worked with are awesome.
The teachers that go in there are positive. They come to learn new things.
Training other people means you are constantly learning things also.
    Best job ever.

    Cons

I left because the job was part-time with no benefits. I traded three part-time jobs for one full time job, and I can't say that it was a good choice. Full time positions at MSAC were scarce. But, sticking it out may have been better.

That's pretty much the only bad thing about working here,,, having to make that choice between your immediate family needs and the brass ring.

    Pros

I worked at Mt. San Antonio College for little over a year and had nothing but great experiences. The people were great and really enjoyed their jobs, and I met some pretty amazing people during my time there.

    Cons

Probably the only con I can think of is that there is sometimes bad-blood between departments that sometimes creeps into the workplace, luckily nobody really forces you to partake in any of the inter-department politics.

I worked at Mt. San Antonio College part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Students and quality instruction were priorities. Admin and staff very supportive with ideas, logistics, and equipment when available. Classrooms had a computer, Elmo (doc projector), and digital projector, Teachers had in-service participation and PD opportunities. There was a fair amount of collaboration and productive planning. Pay was reasonable.

    Cons

There were no F/T options; total hours at the college limited to 60%.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to offer support to teachers and aides. Allow more hours.

I have been working at Mt. San Antonio College part-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Solving problems and helping students is very rewarding. The pay and vacation time are quite good, even for part timers. For the most part it is a pretty relaxed atmosphere.

    Cons

The hiring policy seems designed to stop anyone from moving up internally. Going from part time to full time is very unlikely. Management seems largely deaf to the suggestions and complaints of lower level employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to your employees and work to ensure their happiness. Happy employees means better service, and better serving our students to get them the education they need is the entire point of the college's existence.

I worked at Mt. San Antonio College

    Pros

There are hundreds of classes to choose from. The hospitality program is excellent. The tennis program is a blast, and it seems like the majority of teachers actually care.

    Cons

It is hard to get classes sometimes until you have priority registration.
