I have been working at Mu Sigma (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of work means a lot of learning No work life balance/harmony etc - if you want to grow you need to work - middle management sets a good example of hard work. CEO- Crazy leader

    Cons

Appraisals are not very organized and it affects morale, but if you want to learn something then its perfect Working at a client location makes you feel like a pariah sometimes - it usually sucks but its a part of the deal CEO - Crazy leader :)

    Advice to Management

Organize appraisals - do not promote people just because they will leave if you dont or if they have been loyal. It makes you look like a lala company. Not an aggressive startup that you are most of the time.

    1. Has a unique philosophy and value proposition that is playing out in the marketplace and will differentiate Mu Sigma 2. Provides opportunities to young talent 3. Innovative and always open to learn from past mistakes 4. Great clientele solving wide range of business problems

    Cons

No company is perfect. Needs to get better at internal communication, employee rewards & recognition and branding.

    Advice to Management

Focus on the vision of the company and pursue that with dedication

I have been working at Mu Sigma full-time

    Pros

    1. Lot of learning 2. Chance to solve a variety of problems 3. Chance to interact with directors

    Cons

    1. Work can get really hectic esp because the offshore team is not always capable as they are mostly fresh graduates. 2. There are no perks 3. Not all the work is of high quality. Mu Sigma is at a stage where it is taking up a lot of work to penetrate into as many businesses as possible. Hence, some of the work can get really monotonous 4. Some clients look at Mu Sigma just for data pulls, it takes considerable effort to win their trust and add value.

    Advice to Management

    1. Please take steps to curb attrition so that on site do not waste their time on just getting bare minimum things done 2. Have proper thought when a new artifact is introduced on how to pass it on to everyone. leadership dont seem to know themselves on the best way of using an artifact 3. people complain a lot about calls. Enable delivery teams in a way the call volume is minimal. It is also important to train client services team 4. Organize extensive training for new managers so that they know how to project manage. There are a lot of frameworks that can be leveraged in bits and pieces. A mini MBA as Dhiraj talks about dosent exist in reality. Make good managers/leaders so that most of the time is NOT spent on petty admin stuff but on something REAL

I have been working at Mu Sigma full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You learn a ton, about how to be professional and how to get work done. Lots of responsibility very early, and your words are listened to by senior managers who have 10+ years of experience when you're just a rookie. Again, you get a huge amount of knowledge for your time here.

    Cons

The schedule is nuts! Be at work by 8:30 - 9:00, morning meetings, spend the afternoon getting work done, spend the early evening doing the work you didn't get done in the afternoon, spend the evenings in calls (yes, you are required to take calls from India at 10:30 - 12:00 midnight, and there is no way out of them.) Work life integration, not work life balance. If you have a significant other that wants to spend time with you every day, don't bother with this place, you wont have the time.

    Advice to Management

$/hour is pathetic. The "Iron Man Suit" ideology is an excuse for not investing in your workers. If you want to retain Americans for more than 2 years, either up the pay or dial down the workload.

I have been working at Mu Sigma full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You will cover breadth of analytics in very short span of time which in other companies you might take years.

    Cons

Too early at times you move into the management side.

    Advice to Management

Learn to say no the clients at times. Dont sell too much work in the name of learning.
