    Great benefits, packages and bonuses (fly on the wall)

    everything from the corrupt management to the inexperienced unqualified seniors, to the sexual harassment behind closed doors for advancement

    Large organisation with descent reputation in the local markets Good support for training and career advancement Good pay and benefits

    Cons

    Executive directors not professional - wonder every now and again how did they get there - Its more important who you know than what you do Too much bureaucracy and red tape - have to make lengthy reports, recruit an army of consultants to find out that nobody cares about it anyway

    Advice to Management

    Review all your Executive Directors and make sure they are aligned with companies ambitions Treat people with more respect - These are your most important assets

    Pros

    Interesting work at the senior level; very active across many industry groups; pay and benefits as an expat are excellent; not very stressful compared to similar firms in NY or London

    Cons

    Quality level and professionalism of investment professionals can be spotty depending on the group / function. Work culture in Abu Dhabi is very different that in USA/Europe. Most of the junior staff are locals and quality / work ethic vary widely!

    Pros

    - A variety of industries it operates in makes certain jobs interesting and a decent set of values to aspire - Great packages but the initial package euphoria weans off once office politics engulfs the work

    Cons

    - No sense of passion. Employees do not understand their work linkage to the big picture - Lots of wastage in terms of staffing and inefficiencies in processes - Performance assessments can be extremely subjective depending on pre-determined judgments - Hiring process is cumbersome and extends up to 6 months due to various security requirements

    Advice to Management

    - Do a thorough clean-up of processes and staffing needs irrespective of what unit directors think - Talk to lower rungs of employees and massive number of contracted staff to have a real story and opinions about middle management

    Pros

    amazing company. Doing so many things, huge potential massive reach. Permyt employees are cared for and rewarded.

    Cons

    IT management is about 10 years behind. last skills to deliver a world class IT. Poor service and lack control.With a culture of removing anyone who would question. Senior management outside IT have proved great leaders but seem duped by layer below

    Pros

    Salary is a huge perk, you get more perks if you have a close personal relationship with the high-ups

    Cons

    Getting ahead in the company has nothing to do with talent and performance and everything to do with who you hang out with. Upper management has little or no clue how things are run. I have seen millions spent on nothing. There is no culture of trust or transparency, although they say otherwise. Sadly, the culture rewards those who don’t perform.

    Advice to Management

    A good organizational shakeup is not a bad idea, get rid of those who are not performing.
