    Pros

Smart, hardworking co-workers who are very friendly.
I get great direction from my supervisor without being micromanaged.
Management is always looking to the future of the industry.
Excellent IT infrastructure and cutting edge technology.
Patient care constantly reinforced as the priority and the nurses and providers embody this. The people here really do care.
    Top notch benefits.
I really like the food at the cafeteria!

    Cons

The hospitals are fantastic but some of the buildings for shared support services are older.
Challenging environment right now with changes (but that could be applied to the entire healthcare and hospital industry).

    Advice to Management

Some more town hall style meetings with employees would help everyone to feel that they are an important stakeholder.

    Pros

Multicare has great values of Kindness, Collaboration, Stewardship, Integrity, and Respect. Nurses, CNA, and professional staff who provide direct patient care are kind, compassionate, and doing their best to collaborate & provide excellent care. Patients are wonderful to work with. Housekeeping staff is super.

    Cons

Staff turn over is high. Morale is low. Micromanagement & fear-based management style, which is NOT in alignment with Multicare values. Favoritism. Minimal opportunities & support for professional growth & development. No attention to "caring for the caregiver." Lack of resources to provide quality patient care. Poor budgeting of finances.

    Advice to Management

Behavioral Health is growing! The current management needs to walk the talk of Multicare Values. If you want staff to have a positive attitude, you need to really listen & hear what your employees are saying with kindness & respect, and NOT condemn staff for speaking out when they are needing help and support. People in management need to be accountable for how their treat their employees.

    Pros

    Work life balance
    The company values
    Transparency in communication
Supportive and caring teammates that want to see you succeed
    Leadership
Lack of politics (other than union stuff) and not super hierarchical

    Cons

Been some resistance to change but you can see the culture slowly adjusting and embracing these changes.
Some of the positions are under union contracts, which can enable lower performers work the system.

    Pros

Coworkers were supportive and collaborative. Team was great to work with.

    Cons

Too much middle management. Management may talk the talk but they don't walk the walk. They say they want to create an engaging atmosphere but they don't provide opportunities for employees to do their best or grow within their career.

We want employees to feel they have the support of their leaders and opportunities for professional growth. We're sorry you felt this was not the case with your individual leader.

    Pros

    - Fantastic coworkers. I can't say enough about some of the wonderful people (in all disciplines) I've had the honor to work with.
    - Some inspirational leaders who spawned a motivation within myself I didn't think I had.
    - Generous benefits and PTO accruals.
    - A multitude of opportunities for professional development through course offerings.
    - Tuition reimbursement.

    Cons

    - Lack of advancement. I've been a part of MultiCare for nearly eight years. I have a stellar record, the experience and the required education to propel me in the right direction. Despite all that, every pursuit to move up (or even outward) was unsuccessful. With the exception of one, every job I interviewed for was filled by an external candidate. Why not cultivate the talent you already have and provide them with the chance to grow?
    - Unqualified leaders. Self-explanatory, for the most part. How can you expect a department to perform at its best if the leader is unprofessional, disengaged and incompetent? Granted, there is a big cultural shift to improve the leadership but it will take a long time until all those leaders are phased out and replaced with new leaders who embody the new culture.
    - No transparency. So many changes happened in the last couple years...layoffs, re-organization, outsourcing and who knows what else is coming.

    Pros

Dedicated coworkers and wonderful patients are the only things that make it worthwhile.

    Cons

Management will look for reasons to get rid of you, if you earn too much money. They only care about the bottom line. They really don't care about staff & work -life balance. Patient safety & satisfaction aren't too priority. Don't be fooled! The CEO is cutting budgets so tightly, that longterm, higher paid employees are losing their jobs. He won't consider reducing his multi million dollar salary.

    Advice to Management

Abolish favoritism. Discipline all for breaking (the exact same) rules rather than making an example of one person, to create fear in the others.
