I worked at MultiPlan full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

GREAT pay and benefits. Casual dress. Flexible work schedule.

    Cons

Terrible management, especially when being managed from a different state (i.e. New York). Terrible communication company-wide. Little to no respect for others. Little appreciation/recognition from management. Unfair environment - not everybody is treated the same; usually 'who you know' matters most in getting what you want, when you want it; unjustifiable means taken. Nothing seems to be confidential; everybody knows your business.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to your staff; listen and respect them!! Provide communication and follow through on matters that may not seem important to YOU but are important to those working for you, as they are the ones doing the work that makes YOU look good. Practice what you preach and follow the rules just like everybody else...you're really no different. Keep the employees who have good work ethic - those who WANT to work and ENJOY working and get rid of those that sit on their as# all day pretending to work - again, pay attention!!!! Excellent employees get laid off ALL THE TIME but who cares, right???? That's the mentality from the top down and it's pathetic! SHAME ON YOU for not caring about anybody but YOURSELVES!

    Cons

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop with the lay off's, it makes your company look unstable.

    Pros

Huge pros of working here are most of the people, and the fact that we have a very casual dress code.

    Cons

Some of the cons are benefits that aren't very competitive, including salary, and people in positions of power who just don't belong there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take the time to know what middle management is doing. Some of them are really good. Some are misplaced. (Extremely smart with no people skills makes for a bad manager.) Some are so completely useless that their teams would be better off without any manager at all.

I worked at MultiPlan full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Fun office perks like dollar jean days on Mondays, Friday raffles, and fund raisers for Susan G. Komen. The Christmas party is outstanding! Always at a fun location and with great raffles. As an employee you do help pay for the party throughout the year through raffles etc. VERY big Christmas bonuses that come in handy since they do not pay very well.

    Cons

The pay rate is very low in customer service. They reserve a lot of the money for their fee negotiators. Raises are what you expect from a corporation, the highest I ever received was $0.40. Typical office politics.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do not expect employees to be satisfied to work in customer service for 3 years with no opportunities to grow or advance.

I have been working at MultiPlan as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

Nice offices with nice view of Dallas. The location is in Irving, Texas, which is also known as Las Colinas. It is a very nice area of Dallas, and has a river walk area similar to San Antonio. Great restaurants and apartments within walking distance. Can get by without a car if you have to, and live high and mighty.

    Cons

Poor leadership, low morale, too much overtime (on rotation). Needs to hire software developer(s) and Director of Application Development interviews excellent candidates but lets them go much too quickly for minor reasons.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Needs better recruiting method. The team leads need additional support but the director of application development needs to stop looking only for candidates who walk on water.

    Pros

Summer Fridays are nice, as was the location of the office. A nice team to work with (doesn't include supervisors and management). Salary was somewhat competitive.

    Cons

Supervisors and managers were allowed to bully staff with impunity. In some cases, they were also allowed to submit performance reviews that were based solely on supervisors' opinions of staff members, rather than actual job performance, reviews that while not resulting in termination, did prevent members of staff from making even just lateral moves into other departments by destroying reputations. Other posts about the issue of constant downsizing due to frequent acquisitions is also true; a number of staff members were let go, rehired, and then let go again with 2-5 years of being rehired, and the threat of downsizing always loomed. Unrealistic performance expectations were placed on staff members, morale was always low, and both supervisors and management showed little respect for staff members, encouraging a very "us vs. them" atmosphere.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat staff members with the respect they deserve as employees, and as human beings in general! Do something to prevent the constant downsizing as well, and if you must do it, show some empathy for the employees being downsized, and again, don't forget the respect! I was one of a large group of employees who were downsized within the last 3 years (many of whom had been with the company for 5 years or more), and the way it was handled was atrocious! Summoning staff members to a conference room and briefly speaking to them for less than 5 minutes before sending them on their way so that they can be out of the building within 30 minutes (as though they had done something wrong) is not the way to handle something as traumatic as a downsizing of long-time employees.

    Pros

The people in my department are great and every person is accountable for their position which makes the job easier.

    Cons

Certain departments fall behind so others need to add on to their already difficult responsibilities without affecting their current job performance with no pay increase or incentives.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

MultiPlan is the largest provider network in the US and making a lot of money. If a department falls behind or if the workload increases, it should be ok to hire additional help instead of adding more work to current employees to pick up the slack.
