    Pros

    stable and friendly environment
    plenty of training opportunities
generally work and life balance (flexible working hours is promoted in some areas in recent years)

    bureaucratic management team
slow to adapt to market changes
networking is overrated...personal growth depends on who you know not how much you know about the job

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

senior management team should build more effective channel to hear more from the bottom, not just from your managers.

Average Christmas Party. Ergonomic desk chairs. Clean offices. 401K plan after one year.

Back-stabbing sweatshop with "unattainable requirements" (job load here).

I worked at Munich RE America as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Maybe my manager was bad . I was a victim of politics . Out team lead always made things difficult . Instead of finding out what is the beat way to handle things she always blamed other people and never took any responsibility .

    Cons

Some coworkers are great to work with

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please assign a proper leader not some one who know how to lead instead of making things difficult

I have been working at Munich RE America full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good Benefits, comfortable work environment with low stress, mostly good people, solid parent in Munich Re. overall a great company

    Cons

Very easy to get too comfortable and coast through life. Most people have been here over 20 years because no one gets fired and the work is easy. After a while you have no where to go and stop learning.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Everyone complains about how busy they are but the reality is they are not. look at the people who leave and beg to get back in. Do not allow employees to get so comfortabel and hang around for 20 plus years. they are not brinign anything to the table.

I worked at Munich RE America

    Pros

    good health benefits for employees

    Cons

seems the admin department hires uneducated people who just grow with the company and make it hard to fire them. They have no idea what is going on and rely on the younger newbies to figure it out... of course the younger employees keep leaving within months.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

promote the hard working not the lazy staff that has been there forever.

    Pros

    - Chance to learn from the best and contribute to an industry-leading organization
    - Salary and benefits are fantastic
    - Great opportunity for young professionals to enter an aging industry

    Cons

    - It is indeed an aging industry
    - Being owned by a parent company has Pro's and Con's, and you just need to be aware that it does have an effect

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Everything seems under control. Keep doing what you're doing.

    Pros

Fair compensation. Market prominence and security. College reimbursement. Recognizes most holidays. Modern office environment. Current business software applications. Office locations close to major highways and high value realestate.

    Cons

Non-exempt levels have unreasonable requirements and subjective management. No cafeteria for health concious people. Under one hour lunch. No professional incentives for non-exempt employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Restructure call center support center and offer options based on education, performance, business experience rather than personal problems priority. And change job changes from one year to six months.

    Pros

Great work environment. Company really cares about its employees. Long list of Employee Value Programs! Lots of development opportunities exist. Employee development is key here.

    Cons

Limited autonomy. Parent company structure and philosophies are also rooted here which can be stifling and minimize creativity and innovation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Define leadership. Show up and put a face to it and above all, be authentic.
