    Pros

Good benefits and friendly people. Very social company. Its a small company so you dont feel like you are part of the rat race.

    Cons

Due to Murphy being a smaller company, there are not as many opportunities as there would be in an oil major

    Pros

    None at all, not one.

    Cons

No understanding for military spouse/single mothers with children and husband deployed. Will work you like a dog, expect you to come in on your off days and/or come in early, stay late regardless of the impact it has on childcare, etc. If you can't do that, even if you're not in a management position, they fire you. Good luck.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees like people instead of robots. Hold everyone to the same standard. Don't expect people to bend over backwards if you treat them badly.

  9. Overall good company. Great benefits. People in higher management need to learn better interpersonal skills.

    Pros

I thoroughly enjoyed the advancement opportunities. Also, the ability to travel among the district and give assistance to fellow team members.

    Cons

No work-life balance at all. No growth potential beyond store manager unless you have a super supportive District Manager who doesn't feel threaten by you and your skills.

    Advice to Management

Consider promoting those who you use so frequently. Offer better incentives for managers who consistently show improvement. Also, allow managers more time off to spend with families. Hold the ASM's accountable for the business to prepare them for next level leadership.

    Pros

Its always great to meet new coworkers, get to know your customers, all while having a laid back job and flexible hours.

    Cons

Management could use some work. The hours could be better. They advertise benefits but will not provide you woth the hours necessary unless you are a manager or assistant manager.

    Advice to Management

If you can't pay cashiers more, or give the benefits that are advertised, at least give the hours we need to pay the bills.

  11. Good company with a lot of good intentions but incompetent and overzealous leaders never let it come to fruition.

    Pros

Good competitive environment and good pay and compensation.

    Cons

A few overzealous leaders get in the way of good development.

    Advice to Management

Promotion from within supposed to be a good thing but some of the managers promoted to district managers makes life so difficult for the store managers, cursing at them at will and treating them with utmost disrespect, also threathening them with their job. Some real nice people in higher management that you can reach out to but who wants to do that all the time because of an incompetent supervisor .
