    I have been working at Murray Guard full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Knoxville office (cant speak for others) actually attempts to get you what you want. Security is a low paying field unless you get a government contract. I worked and showed my dedication for a year and showed my ambition to move up, they gave me a contract making almost $20/hr.

    You really get what you give here. Management does their best and it shows. We appreciate you guys.

    Cons

    Not just murray; but, when a contract is up for bid, everyone is on their toes. That is with all security companies though.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Some of us know you guys do good and try hard, i recommend looking deeper into the wish-wash problematic contracts for better officers. Although i cant complain much.

    A couple of people from corportate are nice and will do anything for you...most don't care though

    Cons

    Low pay, no raise, always asking more of employees, but not willing to pay for extra work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pay security officers and office management what they deserve. A seasoned proffessional with a college degree deserves more than 25k a year.

    Pros

    You are paid on time,
    Any errors that occur in paycheck are fixed on next check.
    Steady work, Set schedule

    Cons

    Hard to take time off when needed, (feel like it's a burden)
    Short Handed at my location.
    Management needs improvement.
    Benefits are non-existent.
    Long Hours.
    Schedule difficult to move around.
    Not enough pay for services expected.
    I was hired as a Security Officer not a receptionist / Assistant.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be more aware of whats going on at your sites.
    Provide Training to employees
    Have back up plans if one of the employees needs off for emergency
    Consider pay increase for additional services rendered.
    Provide more opportunity for advancement

    Job is easy, love the post

    Cons

    No raise ever, in 8 yrs of employment, checks are constantly wrong, worked EVERY weekend 12 hr shifts for 8 yrs, they hired one person to work one day so I don't get OT (all this does is make me place the floor at home when it's his night to work. If he doesn't show up, we could lose contract), no communication with Lexington staff, they all seem very uneducated and lack the skills to run the company smoothly, they are verbally abusive towards employees (actually got yelled at for taking time off for my mothers passing, because they say there is no one to replace me), emailed corporate over pay which got me no where, have been laid off by a piece of paper hanging in my office (couldn't even face me like a Man) but yet they write you up if you don't shave accordingly. Their paid vacations are paid by employees last name. Meaning, if your last name starts with a W, you're paid last week of August. Good luck scheduling a vacation. I'm so sick of the many consequences an employee can face due to his/her actions, while companies like these take no responsibility whatsoever for their many faults. I'm very seriously contemplating contacting the BBB, labor board and lawyer.

    For the most part they try to take care of you I'm A supervisor I get overtime or time off if I need it with no hassles

    Cons

    Finding coverage; dedicated officers most officers just look@it as A pay check&thats not good, I'm A very loyal supervisor&I take care of my officers

    Give raises to the supervisors that go over and beyond the expectations even some employees some of us really enjoy working here wanna grow they wanna stay just need a little more money but thank you for the opportunity you've given me (Atl Branch)

    Pros

    easy work mostly solo and not bothered most of the time. good for a short term job don't expect anything more.

    Cons

    the cons of this company are long some of there supervisors are very abusive will seek to fire anyone they simply don't like or have some sort of handicap not the ones that never show up for work and not do there job. there is no job security if your site contract is altered or expires they will fired without notice. the pay sucks even for security most sites are minim wage. benefits are a joke. fees are so high and the wage so low nobody can afford them. upper management has no clue on anything don't even know half there sites or who works for them.

    replace the supervisors you know who they are.

    Pros

    Paychecks are always on time, any mistakes in pay are promptly fixed on the next pay period. The hours I work vs they days off is great.

    Cons

    Pay is no where near worth, all that I am responsible for at current site. No real job security, insurance "supplement plan" is a joke that is priced way too high. No matching 401K, Inept local site supervisors, No one in any kind of management position listens to concerns or ideas from the "guards". Almost non existent chances for career advancement. No raises in last 3 years, Some get paid more for the same job preformed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Have a more structured company at all levels, reach out and listen to concerns and ideas from everyone even the "remote" sites that aren't readily accessible to you. Offer better benefits to employees, work more closely with the site supervisors and company reps to resolve any issues that may arise quickly.
