Advice to Senior Management
Listen to the people who decide to leave the organization. . .feedback received could help retain the younger and/or stronger talent.
Pros
ok salary, good office environment
Cons
Not enough training
compensation left much to be desired
Advice to Senior Management
More training
Better and fair compensation
Pros
Top notch management, they all want you to succeed and support and training always available.
Managers will even run appointments with you and won't take a split (hense; they want you to succeed)
Every agent in the office is very helpful and pushes you to succeed.
I love how many great changes there has been lately since I been with the company.
You can ask anyone for assistance and they won't hesistate to help. How many RM's can you talk to and they speak to you as if you were on the same level as they are?
Not a job, a career!
Managers make sure you are ready to contract before you move forward (to maximize your bonuses).
Leads cost you but they are quality and you can use your prospecting credits.
Too many more to list. If you ever met any managers or mentors in Blue Bell you'd know what I am talking about.
Cons
Underwriting process (Mainly APS)
Paper applications
Software is good, but wish we could write more electronic apps.
All small cons compared to the pros. Bottom line is.... The $$$ in your pocket and doing what's right for your clients.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep doing what you are doing, maybe assist in quicker underwriting process to perfect the whole system.
Pros
Everyone is committed to the customer and has the empowerment to do the right thing
Cons
Not a great on boarding process
Pros
On your own schedule, you push yourself. It's all up to you!
Cons
Non existent management support. Didn't even hear from manager. Manager did not care to get involved with my career success. No communication whatsoever. They don't care about you as a person, they just want you to line their pockets!
Advice to Senior Management
Communicate with your agents, after all if agents succeed out in the field you will also succeed with overwrites. care a little would you.
Pros
Mutual of Omaha is well known, and this recognition ensures that a positive review from a prior job with Mutual is a valuable asset on a resume.
Cons
Management takes advantage of lower-ranking and temporary employees by promising performance based advancement and increasing hours and never follows through. Leads employees on using distraction techniques to ensure they don't quit even though they have no opportunity for advancement
Pros
Other than management it is a great place to work. Great employees, company policies, and benefits. Had a great time.
Cons
Managers are all talk but no backup. You need to watch your back.
Advice to Senior Management
Backup your employees. Don't just look for botton line.
Pros
Multi-line insurance company therefore a wide range of opportunities available. The benefits are fair, but like everywhere else, the are gradually trimming them each year. Starting salary was good.
Cons
Old company with old technology, is slow to adapt. They struggle to differentiate between performers. They can identify a few studs now and then and the no-brainer losers, but everybody else is rated "HM", "High, meets expectations".
Advice to Senior Management
Remember you are a mutual company. Who does the surplus belong too? Spread the wealth appropriately. Retaining your talent should be a top focus during 2011 and 2012. A lot of grumbling going on in the trenches. The most I have seen in years!
