    Cons

    San Mateo office is not compelling- can't compete with talent/offers in Bay Area. Poor leadership

    Pros

    -the Ann Arbor office is full of young, talented individuals who are passionate about their work
    -management is creative and new products are implemented frequently
    -there is a large amount of mobility between departments and employees can experience different roles
    -HR is extremely understanding, approachable, and dedicated to improving the workplace
    -company hierarchy is fairly flat; lower level employees can make an impact on the company as a whole
    -the rapid growth of the industry makes the work interesting, exciting and frequently educational
    -the training provided to new hires at the BDA role is immensely helpful to those who are new to sales
    -company culture that extends to events outside the office leads to a strong community of co-workers

    Cons

    -the day-to-day duties in the BDA role are often tedious, tiring and can be frustrating
    -performance based compensation is sometimes difficult to achieve without exceptional dedication and work ethic

    -increase communication between departments and between levels of management
    -shift more resources towards marketing and inbound leads

    Pros

    This is a growing company in an exciting industry, providing employees with the opportunity to receive great experience, and have a good time doing it. The best part about working at MyBuys is the people you work with each day, they make getting up and going to work fun everyday.

    Cons

    In an ever changing industry, you may feel some what disconnected at times with industry norms. More regular training and workshop sessions could easily provide more guidance for changing tides in the industry.

    Pros

    -MyBuys is in a high growth industry
    -lots of learning opportunities
    -moving from start up to adolescent company
    -MyBuys solutions can help

    Cons

    -politics is king at MyBuys. Impossible to get departments on same page. Managers of each department blindly defend their employees and incompetence. Departments blame each other everyday. Backstabbing. Management makes excuses for failed projects. Management doesn't hide their favoritism for certain employees, even if they continue to underperform. Management celebrates "company milestones" as successes when they were failures.
    -unprofessional work environment. On Monday, you will hear whispers about employees sleeping with each other or their attempts at sleeping with each other. Coworkers like to chat, gossip, and flirt more than work. F-bombs are dropped everyday. Employees openly criticize and insult each other. Too many HR red flags to count. Caustic, cliquey, college-like work environment.
    -no accountability. Failed projects are blamed on clients and the sales department. Technical problems are not addressed. Lots of finger-pointing between business side vs. engineering side. Engineering management does nothing to address lapses.
    -no transparency on direction of company. None.
    -suffocating micromanagement. Managers expect employees to arrive before 8AM and stay after 5PM. Don't even think about leaving your desk to take a break or taking an hour for lunch. If you complain, you will be reprimanded by your manager. Seating arrangements are micromanaged.
    -little product innovation. Product management is too busy fixing problems than developing, expanding the product.
    -horrific marketing. Marketing has done nothing since coming on board. Sales depends on itself to sell.
    -too many "Dog and Pony" shows. Management pushes informational presentations designed to mollify employee questions, without squaring up and addressing issues.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    -strengthen and expand core product
    -clean house on technical side. Too many employees holding back progress.
    -improve marketing
    -improve your company culture. This is business not college.
    -transparency has not improved. Make good on your promises.
    -don't carry out a witch hunt to find who writes honest posts likes this one. This is how your employees really feel.

    Office Politics Slowly Decaying The Company

    Lots of activities to build morale such as scavenger hunts and tailgates and happy hours

    Cons

    Upper management panics and needs to find a department or individual to blame. Responsibilities get deflected and creating new roles and titles to try and improve "work delegation" is simply a front to satisfy office politics and present an environment of career development.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Just because an employee has seniority does not mean he or she is competent. Remove the toxic members of the team to build up the team.

    Pros

    Lot of opportunity to learn new technology
    Small and Growing company - lot of opportunities to work on different area. You wont get bored
    Fair management, Active HR management to get employees feedback regularly
    Good product suites
    Strong and Organized operation team.
    Flexible work hours
    Nice/Convienient office location

    Cons

    Follows waterfall design. Progress is slow towards agile development. New management appears to be more committed towards agile and fast development cycle now

    The main pro is the industry and products that MyBuys is developing. They are technological and data based solutions in an industry with a pressing need for solutions that work.

    MyBuys provides a great work environment but lacks structured training required to give new hires the skills they are looking for -- especially at the entry level

    Pros

    if you are good, you just need to work couple of hrs and still be considered as best
    High management is passionate and with good business acumen

    Cons

    Management is too afraid to fire non productive team members as they find very difficult to attract new hires
    No delegation of work - CTO does most of the coding, release, code branch,trouble shooting.
    Middle Management is incapable of making any decision of its own
    People "work" from home whenever they want and that means just keeping Lync status as "Available". No accountability.

    delegate work
    track deliverable and make people responsible

    Pros

    - young and vibrant work culture
    - digital marketing is a huge industry with tons of opportunities and MyBuys has various products that will get you familiar with ads, email, web
    - offices in cool locations (ann arbor, san mateo, ny)
    - Ann Arbor has a terrific HR director who is a smart and thoughtful leader. He does his best to handle the company's flaws
    - rotational program exposes you to different departments to give you diverse experience and direction in your career
    - make real friends with your coworkers

    Cons

    - extreme micro-managment. You will not be trusted to do your job well, nor rewarded if you succeed. It's best to commit yourself to mediocrity and save yourself the stress of working hard. Or, get a job at a company that recognizes talent and effort
    - always growing an excessively large sales team who pushes a product that has lots of flaws instead of ramping up engineering hires or product developers to strengthen the core product
    - compensation not competitive with similar tech companies for entry or mid-level jobs
    - management can be condescending and opaque. You will know very little about what's going on behind the scenes, and what you do learn will not please you
    - high layoffs and poor quota pay, all under the guise of necessary measures taken towards "profitability"
    - promises are not kept. Expect anything positive that is told to you to be forgotten or skewed
    - younger recent college grads are manipulated and tricked

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - return to how the company used to be
    - be transparent in your dealings with employees and your direction as a company
    - fix your product so employees aren't passing on your false promises to clients
    - pay people fair wages on time
    - stop firing your quality employees because they're "overpaid" a fair wage
    - take 2 steps forward and 1 step back
    - reward employees who work hard for you without finding reasons to discount their effort

    Michigan office full of bright dedicated people

    Cons

    CEO and founder has been moved to the sidelines. VC's/ Board are making all of the decisions. They are trying to get their money out...beware
