ProsStability is the major factor in Mycom. Higher management respect staff, compensation and benefits are good. Managers-fully understand work environment

ConsWork pressure is created to junior staff members and uselessly pushed to provide revenues, when there is no need to push.

ProsFlexible hours and ability to remotely log in to work.

ConsThis division is treated like a family, in that, if you're part of their family, you're ok. If you're not, well good luck trying to advance in this company.

Advice to Senior ManagementChange management at the Dallas office. They have hired way too much of theif family and friends and it creates an environment where they are treated better. If you have a problem with one of them, you have no one you can go to for a resolution for this issue.

ProsConstruction team was fun to work with, very down to earth. At times they were a bit disorganized but easy to communicate with.

ConsExpectations for job were not aligned with job description in terms of hours worked. Was given work with little to no explanation on how to properly complete tasks. Work performance was lied about in front of other employees. General disrespect for work/life balance.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

ProsThe senior management team lack knowledge so you can take advantage of it and work from home by just telling them you are not coming in

ConsManagement lacks know how. Other Telecom companies do not respect Mycom due to Mycom firing and laying off people when work is slow so there is always someone new and the customers have to wait for the new person to learn. Also Mycom does not train anyone its just wing it and let's Keats we get by

Advice to Senior ManagementGrow up and keep your great employees and let go of the management lacking knowledge

Current Employee – been working at Mycom

ProsMycom allows you to have responsibilities which may not be possible with other companies. There are opportunities for those who are dedicated and want an opportunity to increase their knowledge and skill level.

ConsSome of the managers are highly paid yet grossly inexperienced to be in such important positions. Many of the employees are greedy and only want what's in it for them. No company loyalty or concern for the company's best interest.

Advice to Senior ManagementI would recommend that Mycom replace inexperienced management with someone more qualified to do the job. If that isn't an option, they should make training mandatory to ensure the inexperienced, unqualified managers obtain the training they need in order to be successful.

ProsAdjustable working hour so that you can have some family time. Better opportunities to be promoted if you are professional with ambition. Good chances to meet different people from different country.

ConsDrama french style management and the benefit is not generous sometimes

ProsSmall community/family feel, many good people trying to do a good job, offers some work/life balance to a degree and good colleague friendships.

ConsLike families it can often be dsyfunctional. Company lacks leadership ability in Executive Management and an organized management structure, primarily due to a small group of Senior managers who do not have bandwidth to better organize the day to day operations. Therefore, a lack of accountability exists throughout. Company is stuck operating as a small start up, and missing some of the business acumen and employee management skills to improve working conditions, employee satisfaction, employee morale and development.

Advice to Senior ManagementDevelop Leadership, Establish Structure, Create an environment that shows employees are valued and respected.

ProsThey do have many great technicians working for them, but they are quickly disgruntled by the red tape and lack of general interest in them by upper management. 2011 Christmas bonus was $50.00 dollars, to people that will work sometimes 22 hours in one day, I would have preferred a call just to say good job, this was a slap in the face.

ConsThey are more concerned about charging the customer then doing quality work; mid level management has no concern with NEC codes or quality control. Safety within the company is a joke they are more worried about fire drills then technicians safety in the field, you will never be given a first aid kit or a fire extinguisher for your company truck. Getting materials to do your job are very slow in coming; don’t be surprised if they ask you to pay for them out of your own pocket, and with that comes an expense reimbursement policies that are always changing , Per Diem and out of pocket expense can take from 30 to 60 days till you get it back this job will cost you more in the long run then you will make. Mycom is a joke to most of the telecommunications companies because of their high turnover rate.

Current Employee – been working at Mycom

ProsNice family run atmos. Open plan environment. Fun actvities with other employees- Trasure hunt, bowling etc. The people who work there are very professional.

ConsA lot is expected of each employee but little is given back in return. Engineering staff are treated like children.

Advice to Senior Management|Give more responsibility to your employees and trust them to work hard and reward them for it. More structured pay increases.
