    Pros

The pay is competitive and the benefits are good. It is a fast paced environment with a lot of opportunities to learn new things and be on high profile projects. Great tuition reimbursement program.

    Cons

There is little work/life balance and spending time with your family or having other obligations is looked down upon. People lose their jobs left and right and everyone is looking over their shoulders. Their is not a collaborative feel in the workforce because it is everyone for themselves. People are becoming a product of their environment.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees. Don't just say people are our most important asset-mean it and act as though it were true.

    Pros

Strong company with a strong future

    Cons

The leadership at Mylan does not care about their employees. They lead with fear rather than respect. Even within the departments, everyone looks to put the blame on someone else and no one hesitates to throw a colleague under the bus to save their own behind. The culture is defeating. Lots of yelling, swearing and name calling from the top down - no respect for employees whatsoever.

    Pros

Benefits Holidays Free meal once a summer Holiday party Health unit

    Cons

No work life balance, stuck in old ways. Many employees are just looking towards retirement and not willing to look outside the box. Production is often given tasks with little direction on how to proceed and expected to figure it out. Management says they do not pressure employees, but pressure is on all the time.

I have been working at Mylan Inc full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fast growing company with many positive "Visions". Salary is higher than most companies in the area. Great benefits.

    Cons

No team effort. "Everyone for themselves" atmosphere. Very "Top Heavy". It seems like there is a Manager, Director, SR. Director , VP, Sr VP or president for every two employees. Individuals are promoted or hired based on "who you know" not actual qualifications. Always seems to be an unspoken threat of termination.

    Advice to Management

Need to spend more time developing employees and less time in conference calls. Very little communication with new employees, provide more feed back on job performance and training progress. Stop the "fear" mongering.

    Pros

The benefits are good, and the pay is decent. You get to work with some great and talented people.

    Cons

After founder Mike Puskar left the board of directors and passed away, the company has gone from a people oriented company to a profit at all costs company. Other comments about high stress, required availability at all hours, and no work-life balance are right on the money. They work you until you burn out and then replace you.

    Advice to Management

Go back to the values established by the founders of the company.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

I worked at Mylan Inc full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay for the area is good. Bonus and benefits are good.

    Cons

Massive confusion at all levels with constant turnover. Burnout is a HUGE problem. No work life balance, and there are too many managers. Unrealistic expectations given current staffing levels. No compensation given for on call hours or evening hours. If you have a family look elsewhere. If you are single, and don't mind working all the time, then you might enjoy it.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the extra levels of management. Have the managers get their heads out of the clouds, and focus more on the needs of your employees. You're burning them out due to insufficient staff levels and unrealistic expectations. Compensate your salaried employees for weekend and after hours work.

    Pros

Inspiring mission, compensation, can do attitude of the culture, good company to work for in a bad economy, location is great, low cost of living, good CEO

    Cons

More SVPs per square inch than an investment bank, some SVPs very weak and/or poor leadership models but persist, very poor communication, weak HR function, very political environment. Long work weeks, not sustainable.

    Advice to Management

Talent management is an area to look into and improve. Need to improve communication and transparency - VPs seem afraid to cascade information down, unclear why this is but should be fixed.

    Pros

pay and benefits package is very good

    Cons

This is a very antiquated 20th century management group, which lacks leadership skills, provides little or no direction or vision among managers and supervisors. Blind obedience is the daily order of the day.

    Advice to Management

Be more receptive and open to employee improvement suggestions, and stop encouraging employees to inform on one another. Encourage adult, rational interactions.

I have been working at Mylan Inc full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Pay is above average and the benefits are unbeatable.

    Cons

Poor work/life balance, very difficult to get time off. Even on vacation, you are expected to work. Over 40 hours a week every week is the expectation and when you are not in the office, it is expected you are mobile connected and still working. Upper management would rather hire outside rather than promote from within.

    Advice to Management

Understand that not everybody wants to be married to the company.
