    Pros

Many of the people who work at this company are overworked but you forge friendships that will last. Best advice is to stay out of the drama.

    Cons

No growth opportunity. All "lower" level workers work their butts off everyday for a company who holds getting the yearly bonus over their heads. The upper management and owners of the company turn a blind eye to what goes on at the lower work levels and hire more managers instead of hiring people into departments that really need the workers. There is absolutely no work life balance at this company. They promote a feeling of family since it is a family owned business, however,it feels like they are more slave drivers. All money making departments have workers that put in so much overtime they get resentful of having to go to work. Because of all the unacknowledged hard work that goes on in the labs, there are poor attitudes that just drag everyone around them down. Nepotism runs high at this company, and in order to move up you have to prove that you are willing to be a puppet for higher management otherwise you will be led by intimidation. Your only way of success is to be part of the Nepotism or marry into it. Politics plays a large role in who gets a promotion, it seems that if you are a hard worker then you will be looked over for your boss's best friend. Management has no idea how many people at this company are currently looking for better jobs and will be surprised when they lose their good workers.

    Advice to Management

Change the management. Upper management and the owners need to understand that in order to grow a business they need to help alleviate some of the stress that the workers feel by hiring more help when necessary. This is a money driven company with no regard for who they step on during the process. Use this company as a stepping stone for a first job then get out !!!

    Pros

For Toledo area, it is the best science related company to work for. Big enough to move the ranks, small enough to feel known.

    Cons

Toledo area is limiting. The company has a small bonus plan seemingly. Technician positions don't pay that well which leads to decent turn over in the labs.

    Advice to Management

There needs to be a better input into keeping the departments fully staffed. Seasons of feeling over worked come and go, but more emphasis on retaining employees could be worked on.

    Pros

Most people are cordial and helpful. Profit sharing checks on occasion are deposited to 401k. Most years you get a bonus but they hold it over your head so as to say "jump higher or no bonus". Hazelnut flavored coffee is a plus.

    Cons

No growth opportunity. Career path planning is poor, you don't even know that a position exists unless you find out about it on accident (those work from home people do what?). They know who they want to hire for what and good luck if it's not you. Sales and projected growth targets are so far out of reach its a joke. Mundane work and it's the same thing every day. Policies and procedures are not implemented with much preparation or thought causing stress and chaos for each department. Rules are broken depending who you are. Overflowing with nepotism, it's truly unbelievable from the CEO down to management and the bottom guys. Get used to working Christmas Eve! Pay is lower here then at competitions or similar jobs in the area.

    Advice to Management

    Read the cons.

    Pros

Good pay, interesting work, intelligent colleagues, good environment, happy co-workers. People really seem to care about each other and do the right thing for co-workers and customers. Definitely not a "CRO" who change orders customers to death and nickel and dimes for every little thing

    Cons

Sometimes it feels like the words spoken about being "one" NAMSA and being an MRO (vs a CRO) because the company offers a broad range of services are just that, words and the divisions do their own thing. management is trying to meld it together though I think, it is just taking a while.

    Advice to Management

Benefits could be a little better

    Pros

It's a great starting off point for fresh graduates, the work we do really matters for the Medical Device industry and you get a lot of exposure to large industry leaders of medical device.

    Cons

Always short-staffed, a lot of overtime and weekends, practically minimal work-life balance, needs more robust training methods. Management tries to hire more people, but higher management doesn't get the horses before the cart. As a workaholic, it's so hard to try to take time off because you'll worry about the work that's not being done when you're off.

    Pros

Compensation is OK or at least they are trying to do it right

    Cons

Company Core value is to follow slum lord hotel business.
Company culture is based on corrupted relationships, fear, and lies.
There is a big group of useless job title holders pretending they are working. They would not shy away from any wrong doing to fulfill their mission of not doing anything useful and at the same time justify their positions. They are the ones who constantly would try to punish and control others and turn their life to hell!

    Advice to Management

Change the core value and change the culture by changing key upper upper management and hire honest hardworking human beings that are not playing games and would like to do something good for the industry. Reward and empower the right people.
Unless you want to run a half star hotel NAMSA!
