    Pros

Excellent staff, professional working atmosphere. The quality of the people working there is a huge motivator to do your job well and make you want to come to work each day.

    Cons

Due to the industry and politics in the state, the job is unfortunately not very secure. There is no mechanism for taking a decrease in pay as opposed to being laid off.

    Pros

The benefit of having a job with marginal benefits and where 1% of the employee's are great to work with.

    Cons

This company does not respect, appreciate and/or value its employee's and the contributions its workforce makes to management and the company. The wages are inconsistent with actual market trends. The benefits they provide are marginal and merit increases are hardly ever realized based on merit achievements. Employer 401K contributions have been discretionary with little or no match from year to year. The work culture & values are hypocritical. The average tenure for an its employee's is very low based on project depletion and sustainability which follows the layoff cycles. Working for them is a huge risk with no long term guarantees. Management makes special considerations to a protected group of people and conflict management is always prevalent in their workforce. This company plays games with its employee's. Most employees and management are obnoxious, arrogant, narcissistic and are very difficult to work with. Project & slope teams are in disarray and appear to be out of control. A significant amount of stress in the workplace exists.

    Advice to Management

Respect, appreciate and value your employee's who show merit and reward them accordingly with significant merit pay increases. Management talks a good game but in reality they fail. Pay your employee's what the market share is paying. Be consistent with 401K matching. Go back to the days when NANA/Colt Engineering was a global contender and not a global embarrassment which they are now under the NANA WorleyParsons leadership. NANA is a mess and it shows. NANA should consider undoing the joint partnership with WorleyParsons to regain its engineering integrity , culture and core values as WorleyParsons has harmed NANA in the global market place.

    Pros

The hourly rate was good, but when you account for all the hours worked without pay -- not so good.

    Cons

Abusive employees are encouraged and promoted. This company is completely immersed in the Good Old Boy venue. They will hire anyone, competent or not (usually not), just to fill a chair and charge billable hours to their clients. Female employees, in particular, are very poorly treated. If you like being shouted at, threatened, belittled and demeaned in front of your peers, this is the place for you. Selective enforcement of policies once they decide to get rid of you. Late to work? Two hour lunch? Three martini lunch? Excessive absenteeism? Disappear for a couple of hours in the middle of the afternoon? Go home early? Sit around with your feet propped up on your desk talking on your cell phone most of the day? Downloading porn on the company computer? Fail a drug test? Disruptive behavior in the workplace? Hey, not a problem! You will probably have a job for life even if you do ALL of those things. (As long as you're one of the "good old boys".) If not, you can witness your coworkers get away with bad behavior while you are required to walk a chalk line, then get fired the first time you make the slightest misstep. Worst place I have ever worked, worst job I have ever had.

    Advice to Management

Take a look at what's going on in the lower ranks. There is no excuse for allowing lower level managers and project managers to get away with creating hostile and abusive work environments.

    Pros

It has a very good learning curve and helpful in learning about focused work. It will help if you have a good manager who will be willing to work with you. I would recommend this as a good starting organization

    Cons

Human Resource is not very helpful and are very distant from the operations. It makes you feel like that it is a competition between them and you. management needs to be more involved with employees.

    Pros

Benefits, 9/80 work schedule, exciting projects, fair management, people and family friendly, best in class personnel in their fields, tons of opportunity career wise and for cross training in other disciplines.

    Cons

Sometimes slow to react to market changes, clients allowed more access to micro-manage VS. arms length, lacking formal mentoring/training program, COL raises mostly with initiative and merit based raises inconsistent, no clear path for personal growth as one must stake your own way VS. upper management recognition and promotion.

    Advice to Management

Recognize and reward internal assets, your people! Be a part of the team that's helping build the success by visiting and taking an interest in hearing about what's good as well as what isn't.
