Pros
Co-workers can be great to work with and flex time is a pretty good deal. Decent pay and PTO. Perks like free screenings.
Cons
So much outsourcing and penny pinching they've reduced what you do to managing processess that manage processes rather than actually being a business analyst.
Advice to Senior Management
Quit simplifying jobs to the point that everything employees loved about their jobs is taken away in the attempt to save a buck.

Amazing colleagues, friendly people, interesting high-profile work. Good location.
Cons
Management does not adequately compensate its employees for their hard work. Many need to leave the company or department to receive even a minimal cost of living increase in pay. Increased hours expected for stagnant, non-market wages.
Advice to Senior Management
Salaries are a good 20-30% below market. Institute regular bonuses and predictable raises. Promote people regularly and fairly.

The people make it worth going in every day because they are truly supportive of one another.

The size of the company can make it difficult to navigate the over all umbrella of networks and executives.

They should being back the management development programs for those who are interesting in mater's degrees.

Pros
NBC Universal is a great company to work for. Generally great with understanding work - life balance. Rewarding the employees has been okay, better than most companies I've worked at.
Cons
Receiving a promotion seems to be a tremendous amount of work. There does not seem to be a rhyme or reason in which the promotions are done.
Advice to Senior Management
Perhaps promotions do not have a maximum cap. It can be discouraging seeing other colleagues move on with their career and one can stay stagnant when showing loyalty.

International students want more opportunities to work with NBC but policy seems don't allow them to work as full-time.
Pros
It's 30 Rock, which is a great location to intern. You can do as much hands-on production work as you can handle. It's great to be able to do work that is actually seen, rather than just doing coffee runs, filing & photocopying the entire time.
Cons
There's little to no room for advancement, but NBC should try to identify great interns and help interns get a job with the company.

HR needs to be timely with communication, they seem permanently overwhelmed.
Pros
Considering that it's a rather large company, NBC does try to encourage a feeling of community among its employees. It's a very dynamic company that encourages career growth, and if you're in 30 Rock, it's simply a fun location. A great place to work at least for a few years if only for the experience.
Cons
Benefits are not great, and depending on the department, salary might not be the most competitive. Because of NBC's new parent company, employee communications and HR seem overwhelmed, and the transition is not going as smoothly as I would have hoped.

Employee communications and HR need to do a better job of being responsive and forthright with information. They seem to be overwhelmed.
