Pros
Great Location, Good compensation, Great culture, Fun
Cons
New Owners (Comcast) are not clear how to lead the company.
Pros
Exceptional culture, great support from management, opportunities for professional development only limited by individual's desire for growth. "Fun Product" makes coming in to work an enjoyable experience.
Cons
Unfortunately, home entertainment products are in a steady consumer decline. This is an industry whose days are numbered due to digital delivery and the death of rentailers.
Advice to Senior Management
There are still several cost saving opportunities available if you take the initiative to breakdown "siloed" structure in U.S. and reduce redundant and underperforming individuals.
Pros
Great Perks and benefits , flexibility to work from home or remotely.
Cons
very little room for growth
Advice to Senior Management
very political
Pros
best reasons to work at nbc universal is the people, experience, the ability to learn while on the job at work.
Cons
downside to working at NBC Universal is the number of hours i get as a production assistant. But i am grateful for my job.
Pros
It's a nationally recognized company having them on your resume opens up doors elsewhere, unfortunately it doesn't really open up doors at places like Disney or CBS.
Cons
Keep your head down and do not get into company politics there is always someone watching. Find the silver lining in your internship and just get used to long hours.
Pros
-Great work environment, in a beautiful setting, and world reknowned site.
-Good food
-Great experience and if you work hard a great platform for career advance and future opportunities and outlets.
-If you are truly doing something you are passionate about at NBC Universal then this is a great place to work. If not, you are probably busting your ass somewhere in entry-level, hoping to climb the ladder...good luck
Cons
-Highly competitive
-Extreme hierarchical system.
Pros
-Good pay
-Nice benefits
-Nice perks (food, etc)
Cons
-Huge company, easy to get lost in the shuffle
Advice to Senior Management
Provide more incentive for acheivement.
Pros
Working in the Entertainment industry
Star sightings on the lot
Understand how all the magic happens
Cons
Lots of ownerships change over last 10 years
No real culture overall - silos per division
no economies of scale
Pros
Can be proud of NBCU legacy properties (NBC News, Olympics, Today Show).
Cons
Bad management, lack of strategy, poor communications, egos above good ideas
Advice to Senior Management
Need leadership change to face new business environment. Hire based on skills not relationships. Walk the talk when it comes to diversity (so far nothing but lip service!). Attention to quality - that is what made NBCU great and what will make it great again,
Pros
A lot of support from a large organization with many areas of expertise in house.
Cons
Large organization tends to hinder quick strategic decisions...
Advice to Senior Management
Less command and control, more collaborate and grow
