I have been working at NBCUniversal full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great culture, great leadership, and tremedous content

    Cons

Annual downsizing. Not as digital, innovative as i would have liked. Innovation seems superficial, but at least they try

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to tout content first, and know that your brands are household names that advertisers love

I worked at NBCUniversal full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

NBC is still an impressive brand and gets attention.

    Cons

Comcast is a heartless company and destroys the NBC brand more and more each year. But they really have no choice. TV is dying. The broadcast and cable industry is doomed. Not a good long term career move.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Buy Netflix.

I worked at NBCUniversal as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

This is one of the best working environment I had been to. The people I had worked with were super team-oriented, helpful, honest, and talented! Even though I was just a contractor, they treated me like a full-time staff, and they let me to join the big group of brainstorm meetings. My Vice President, the design managers, the other interactive and visual designers, the project managers, and the IT guru of the team I worked with were very supportive. The days and nights working at NBC were tough, but I really really appreciated all of the great teammates I had worked with!

    Cons

Long hours. But it is very normal working in the entertainment and game industries and agencies.

I worked at NBCUniversal as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

The company size offers pretty good opportunities for those in the media industry.

    Cons

Bad and unfriendly working culture. Poor upper management and bad communication. Overall unpleasant experience.

I have been working at NBCUniversal

    Pros

Very good experience. I loved the social atmosphere. As an intern, you need to be able to ask for things to do, don't expect people to handle stuff to you, ask.

    Cons

Nothing really. I enjoyed the internship, met a lot of people, and other interns in other departments.

I have been working at NBCUniversal full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Stable, if you're looking for that. Though they will randomly downsize when it's actually a busy period. A decent amount of nice people excluding management.

    Cons

Management - they will try to take every penny away from you. They will never try to help you because they stick together like a wolf pack.

Business people run the studio and not filmmakers thus resulting in awful movies and even worse decision making.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Quit.

I have been working at NBCUniversal

    Pros

The biggest pro is that you get to put NBC on your resume. That's about it.

    Cons

You do a ton of busy work and no real work (coffee runs, food runs, answering the phones). They stick all the interns in one room where there aren't even enough for phones for everyone so a lot of people just sit around and do nothing all day. You barely get to interact with any of the show's staff and once you do, you realize everyone hates it there. It was not a happy office environment at all. And all the higher ups are corrupt and fake.

I worked at NBCUniversal part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Loved working for NBC. Felt at home when I was their.

    Cons

Hard to get in when you've been out of the loop corporations loop for a while. But when your in your good.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Avoid having applicants refill out their resume and be more in touch with those who apply rather then having closed door communications. IE make the application and hiring process more personal and not reliant on the internet as the soul method of reaching out.
