I have been working at NBCUniversal full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Well established in the industry, great upper management working on improving the old school mentality. Great opportunity to move skills between different business units due to the structure of the company.

    Cons

Old management was set on their ways too much. Looks like the new team is working on changing that for the better.

I worked at NBCUniversal full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Nice benefits, decent salary. Stated company values are great. I especially appreciate that they try to be somewhat earth conscious or "green". NBCUniversal is a big company, so it makes a great deal of difference where you work. I worked for a broadcast television station and liked it a lot. I had talented coworkers and management.

    Cons

It can be very "corporate". They have a pretty typical annual evaluation system for raises/promotions, which I don't find to be particularly useful or a good measure of success/worth. Work culture can be stressful and overly demanding at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote a more relaxed and stress-free work culture.

I worked at NBCUniversal full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

A company that still must deal with union negotiations, protecting the employee from total abuse.

    Cons

With all the hype on quality of programing and content none of the programs can achieve true quality with out the talents of men and women who help to produce the products for air. Technology has dummed up the process in achieving a product.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

While trying to save or generate optimum revenue and share holder profits keep in mind what can happen when all technology fails and true experienced personnel responds with rapid solutions in a crisis situation.

I worked at NBCUniversal part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

I loved being able to go to USH whenever I wanted and I loved the access to events and the different programs offered for health and wellness.

    Cons

The scheduling was so annoying. They hired so many people so often that other employees got hours cut. The wage is terrible. With Universal being such a moneymaker, they could afford to pay their people a living wage. Happy staff, happy customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't play favorites. Most of my managers were really attentive and helpful but depending on who was working at the time, sometimes I felt my needs weren't met as others were.
