I worked at NBCUniversal as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

-The Campus 2 Career team and supervisor really encourages interns to pursue informationals with so many people throughout the company, and they are willing to help you explore different career paths outside of your internship experience -Great to hear Steve Burke speak to the summer and provide key advice on how to thrive within an entertainment career -Worked on projects that challenged me and provided me transferable skills that could be useful for an entry-level position within entertainment

    Cons

-Difficult to balance work life with family life

I worked at NBCUniversal as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Really felt integrated into the NBCU family, great opportunities for networking and informational interviews, would definitely want to pursue other opportunities here and would recommend to friends

    Cons

Fast paced environment with high expectations, but i wouldn't really count that as a con. Long hours at some points

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great corporate environment. The internship program taught me so much about being successful in the industry and at NBCU

I have been working at NBCUniversal as a contractor (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There is a lot of opportunity for growth to a certain level. The commissary isn't so bad either.

    Cons

They don't know how to motivate there employees. They also need to work farther ahead, this way there not waisting so much on last minute creative fire drills.

    Advice to Management

Wake up, be in the moment, think ahead and realize who is actually your vip's.

    I worked at NBCUniversal full-time

    Pros

Working for a company where the world sees your work. Office politics are welcome.

    Cons

Some groups are slow to being open and developing innovative content. Focus is on bottom line and finances rather then creativity and human capital.

    Advice to Management

Mange from connection and empathy rather than ego and fear.

I worked at NBCUniversal (Less than a year)

    Pros

    -The name on my resume

    Cons

-There was a weird divide with those white collar executives and interns, as such, we had no relationship with them as they came off as very unapproachable. -The majority of the work we did was busy work, such as gathering and distributing clippings, distributing mail. I, at one point, had to search for Halloween costumes for an executives college aged daughter.

I worked at NBCUniversal full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Free screenings, central location, yearly review system, access to NBCUniversal's internal job application site

    Cons

Depends on your manager. If you don't have a champion, you can get stuck on a desk even though you're being given more responsibilities.

    Advice to Management

Develop the good people you hire.
