    Pros

Free stuff is awesome. Benefits after 90 days. No layoffs.

Just filling in to meet the 20 word minimum.

    Cons

This DC needs a complete management overhaul, from top to bottom.

    Advice to Management

Advice to headquarters in NY: Visit your DC's and see what is going on. The Sparks DC is so mismanaged, it's losing money. You have managers who have multiple sexual harassment complaints, people are afraid of one manager because, if you're not of a certain ethnicity, he looks for ways to get rid of you.

Culture & values are a joke. It's 'do as I say, not as I do.'

I worked at NBTY full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I advanced from an Administrative Assistant to Associate Brand Manager during the 10 years I was at NBTY because I worked hard and was willing to learn and be a team player.

    Cons

So many rushed deadlines and stress and long hours. So many things are managed manually. This really needs to be fixed.

    Advice to Management

Talk to the associates who "work in the weeds" like I did. You'll discover so much that needs to be addressed to increase profitability and productivity.

    Pros

Don't have any to mention and just fulfilling the 20 word min.

    Cons

Poor Upper Management, Poor Career development, Poor Human Resource Dept.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the associates who have helped build the success and have to watch Carlyle destroy by appointing leadership team that have had no success's. Also build up morale with more than BS internal PR campaigns. Associates are much smarter and capable than they think - treat them that way!

    Pros

Fellow associates were cream of the crop. Great to work with, and teamwork especially before Carlyle, was always there.

    Cons

Old management who stuck around after the buyout were ok, just afraid to rock the boat. Were afraid to question the consultants ideas, and it took a few years to realize that consultants only
care about their commission. Brought on at least one director with no knowledge of his profession, which made it very difficult on the rest of the staff.

    Advice to Management

Remember the people who got you there. They know how Scott thought and had the same burning desire to excel. These new people that you've brought on after the buyout only care about getting a paycheck.
