    Pros

Clean, safe work environment. Competative benefits package,

    Cons

Pay was below industry standards. There is always a chance of being layed off, let go or outsourced.

    Advice to Management

Be more approachable and personal with the agents in your department

    Pros

Pay is good but do not expect bonuses to be paid out unless you are Nuti.

    Cons

They are outsourcing everything. Warehousing in PTC will be outsourced to FedEx by Sept. Quality will be outsourced. Minimal people in PTC. Assume balance of employees will be laid off and positions filled in Serbia. They are definitely shifting their focus to being software driven, which is fine. However still dragging everyone along with them instead of just telling them the long term goals and what their future holds.

    Advice to Management

They don't listen so none to give. All about the $$. No clue how Forbes rated them good in anything.

  6. NCR is a great place to work if you plan on retiring there. It is however not a great place to grow.

    Pros

The benefits were very good. Also, the team that I worked with was very knowledgeable. NCR appears to be one of those places that a person can work at and retire from because there are a lot of people who have been there 20+ years.

    Cons

There were not a lot of opportunities to grow as an individual. In order to become better at my craft I needed to focus on that myself. Also, management does not appear to know what they are doing most of the time.

    Pros

You can be completely ineffective at your job and still get promoted.

    Cons

There's too many to list. They have 'reductions in force' and eliminate great people only to have to turn around and rehire for the exact same position because they shot themselves in the foot. They have enormous talent pools to choose from and yet they promote from within based on friendly relationships rather than experience and consequently have completely inept people running systems and holding high positions. I myself didn't receive a bonus for two years based on the financial performance of another team that I wasn't even a part of! I wasn't even quota carrying or customer facing!

    Advice to Management

You are so scared to change and grow that you are completely blind to what is holding you back. You make these massive changes that have no positive impact because you have pigeonholed yourself into thinking only one way and everyone has a 'not my problem' attitude. The entire atmosphere is negative and you screw people out of bonuses they've earned.

    Pros

Some of the nicest people you will ever meet are stuck working for NCR ITS.. Senior management is not so nice.

    Cons

No internal growth so job your hired at will be the job you retire at....
Cronyism is only thing that matters... Talent and skills make you threat so hide your ability... stay small and don't ask for anything.. your set for life. Doing the same job day in and day out.. forever.

    Advice to Management

If your direct reports only smile and nod in general agreement with you.. you don't need them. You need fresh ideas and employees with pride and gutts enough to do the right thing day in and day out. Hire, promote and retain people who have skills.AND work ethics. No work from home allowed because company mindset is that anything that can be done from home can be done from a third world country... Not good.

    Pros

I don't have anything good to say about this company, everything I have experienced makes this the worst company to work for in my eyes.

    Cons

Very poor leadership, only care about people that graduated from ga tech, most people in positions they shouldn't be - management focuses on intimidation, or just plain ignore subordinates. Time lines are ignored, no one cares about their job. Most poorly ran, unorganized company I have every experienced.

    Advice to Management

Not at people that are good at their job should be managers. Promote people that can lead the company, and then resign so the new leaders can change it.

    Pros

Interesting company; highly capable middle management

    Cons

NCR offers bonuses (targeted as a % of base pay) based on company performance. However, bonuses are rarely paid due to the company's poor performance. Even in profitable years, senior management finds excuses to cut bonuses in order to save money. Everything at NCR is about cost control and cost cutting. Understaffing is more severe than at any company I've ever worked for. Duluth headquarters are overcrowded with practically no amenities. Everything possible (IT support, bookkeeping) is outsourced overseas, making employees' daily lives very difficult. Training is next to non-existent, save for a few online training programs. HR follows a "low touch" model, i.e. no live HR for employees to consult with -- if you have HR questions or problems, you're expected to solve it yourself by navigating the internal HR "self help" website. In general, if NCR can cut something out of the budget, they will -- regardless of the impact on employees.

    Advice to Management

If you want to be perceived a a genuine, cutting-edge tech company, you can't skip bonuses and you can't base your entire business model on driving every penny of excess cost out of the company. Employees will just go elsewhere.

    Pros

For the most part, the environment is very relaxed. Flex time was a big plus. It was possible to work from home at least once a week. Management didn't complain if a lunch break or personal appointment took more than an hour.

    Cons

The company is self-insured, so premiums, deductibles, and co-pays are all very high. 401k matching is extremely low, and it was moved to the end of the year as on bulk match. You do not get the match throughout the year. Even though the company claims to follow agile methodologies, there are many people and divisions that still follow very old and entrenched processes and culture. Many of them fear change and will complain about you to management. Bonuses are rarely even close to 100%, and it starts at the top based on promises to shareholders. It only gets worse from there.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the employees that you know are intelligent. Fix the compensation and perks structure. Pay close attention to all levels of leadership and take notice of the ones that are really responsible for poor performance. Much of what goes wrong with the company is due to managerial orders.
