Pros
Great place to work with a team atmosphere and large growth potential

Too large of a company, hard to stand out in the crowd.

Set more individual goals with staff.

Need to take a hard look at Sr management and realize employees should be valued.

I was paid $10,000 a month to learn everything I can about the company.
Cons
it was a 24/7 service environment. 600+ emails / day, calls at 3am, customer complaints, etc.. The nature of the business is a back-biting, back-stabbing, good-ole-boy mentality, that has stretched over a hundred years. NCR can't seem to get out of its own gosh darn way!

Unless you desire union representation, you need to get a grip on internal conflict and backbiting.

My manager has no leadership quality. He treats emails sent to him as escalations if you are out of office even when you are sick. He treats his own countrymen well only.
Pros
Compensation is good compared to other companies in the area.
Competent workers however it is not often recognized by management.

Management needs to recognize that employees need to be happy in order to make the company prosper. Unsatisfied employees will equal an unhappy company and therefore, bad customer ratings.

Break up your territories into more manageable pieces for senior management.
Pros
NCR has many hard working people and a lot of great products. The company appears to be stable for now.
Cons
Executive management does not care about it's employees or how hard they work. There is absolutely no reward for all the extra time put in. There is no process, which is shocking for such a large company.
Advice to Senior Management
People are not slaves and you don't own them. You need to be way more respectful about your people and their time.
Pros
NCR is in a great location and I love the people I work with. The workforce is diverse and people seem to work really well together. I like the product I work on and find myself actually enjoying the things I do.
Cons
It suffers the typical issues that any large corporations do and has more politics than I would like. The cafeteria is somewhat mediocre and the vending machines are overpriced. The benefits are good but there are other similar companies that offer better benefits.
Advice to Senior Management
Improve the food offerings and offer the food at cost or even subsidized a small amount instead of letting someone make a profit off of your employes.
Pros
• Great salary and benefits depending on the organization and department you work in.
• Established career paths depending on who is managing you and what organization you’re in.
• Unique travel opportunities for business allowing you to meet great people in other areas of the nation and world. NCR does a great job at reimbursing business travel expenses without much if any hassle.
• Company intranet allows an employee to self-service their employee account without having to deal with layers of people to get something done. It saves a lot of time and energy.
• Global learning has a vast array of continuous improvement tools and internal resources to help employees learn new skills without having to empty their wallets.
Cons
• There is no project management in most of the organizations. Everything is done at the last minute (“dive and catch” as they call it) with no pre-planning or forethought put into an initiative.
• No family / work life balance even though the company prides itself on this. They keep re-structuring and cutting jobs, and in turn placing more burden on the current employees forcing them to cut crucial time with their families. Middle management will provide the usual answer, “You should be thankful to have a job” and “We have to do what we have to do”. No thought is put into the fact that critical family time usually relieves stress and there needs to be a balance, otherwise employees will get burned out much faster. Much of this is caused by the “Dive and catch” mentality a.k.a. procrastination.
• HR is very weak throughout the whole company. They have very little involvement in handling important matters within various departments. They also seem to bend situations and conflicts in favor of upper management while individual contributors are used as scapegoats.
• NCR doesn’t seem to have a clear marketing and media strategy making it difficult for marketing professionals to have a career path within the company. The company invests very little into their marketing initiatives compared to other Fortune 500 companies. They haven’t replaced their previous CMO and don’t have a sense of urgency to recover their footprint in brand awareness and presence among the industry. They also don’t create an authoritative structure in which marketing projects can be completed. Projects will get approved in the early stages, but will be re-worked completely in the later stages due to everyone not being on the same page from the very beginning. There are too many middle men who get involved as well making it difficult for information to get where it needs to.
• Red tape and politics run throughout the company. You can not hide from it. Inevitably most employees will get caught in this and be forced to come face to face with the fact that they can’t get any authentic work done because incompetent managers and directors are fearful they will be replaced by these younger and more talented employees. This in turn causes a “Weeding out” process where everyone is forced to defend their jobs rather than work together as a team to get real work accomplished for the greater good of the company.
Advice to Senior Management
Please care about your jobs and those that work under you. Put yourself in our shoes for a chance instead of living in a lofty dream world where you rake in millions of dollars per year. You can retire comfortably. We can't.

Listen to your workforce. There is much experience in the field. There is a perception that the upper management does not care about the field as much as their metrics and bonus. Whether this is true or not does not matter as much as the perception that it is.
