I have been working at NCR full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

NCR Hospitality (formally Radiant Systems) was the best place I ever worked. I cannot speak for other positions in the company, but, for a software engineer, this is a good place to work. I never regretted my decision to seek employment with this company.

    Cons

Currently, I cannot think of any.

I have been working at NCR as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

the pay is okay, and the hours are nice for people that have young children.

    Cons

NCR seems to only be hiring temps. There being 2 temp companies to chose from, management 99% of the time will only hire from P.S. partners. (the one that has NO benefits I.E. holiday pay. You are told that after 6 months NCR can hire you if you continue to work hard and stand above the rest. (not true) This is a temp job is to pay bills while you NEED to continue to send out resumes to other employers. Don't be tricked into staying for prolonged periods time hoping you will be employed with the GREAT benefits NCR full time gets. NCR uses temps to keep labor costs down. Which means your chances of full time employment are 1 in 100. which = 2 years or more of temp service. I am not saying this because I have not been hired full time after 6 months, but a warning because MANY hard working temps have been here for well over a year bordering 2 years and there seems to be no hope or foreseeable Full time employment for them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more upfront with your Temp hires. Let them know that 95% get terminated or leave before getting hired on full time and if you are to be selected to be a full time employee that you will most likely be waiting for over 2 years while not receiving any benefits. Be more understanding with people that are seeking other employment from other companies, benefits are important (anyone and everyone should understand that fact). Accept a 2 week notice as a 2 week notice not a 24 hr. lockout termination. I will expect to work the whole 2 weeks after I give notice.
lastly I leave management a question to ponder...
    Sick time a + or -?
Temps with no sick time most of which are working and living paycheck to paycheck.
what does a person like this do when they are ill? ( they work sick till they just cant take the illness any longer)
what happens to their coworkers? (they get sick and miss work)
what happens to production when an illness floats threw the area?

I worked at NCR part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Positive attitude, ok pay, nice lower managers

    Cons

no upward opportunities, only lateral promotions (on the warehouse side)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

even if hired from a temp agency, look at you employees strengths, I saw a lot of talent stuck working in the lower rungs of the ladder.

I have been working at NCR as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

    Great working environment
    Participate in live industry projects
    Interaction with multidisciplinary teams
Gain a good range of skills and experience as a new graduate
    Flexible working hours

    Cons

Access to a range of physical prototyping facilities however I feel there could be more.
Spend most of your time indoors in studio - could include more field trips/external research and activities

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Time off policies are good, flexible working hours is a real help. Perhaps more mentoring could be useful at this early stage of a career. Quite a self driven role.

I worked at NCR full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

salary, benefits, international and multi-culture environment, you can learn a lot and have excellent opportunities, but...

    Cons

MANAGEMENT (frequent changes on senior management level that results in frequent changes in strategy and directions, senior management concentrated on power games, too much politics, very bad communication, expectations not clearly laid out)
CULTURE & VALUES = HYPOCRISY (daily practices are miles away from official code of conduct and the problem beginns at senior management level)
