Must have iron fist to those idle & stubborn employees else they will bully those who are doing their job.

    Pros

    Many opportunities in govt projects
Many training courses available (though may not always have the budget or time to sign up)

    Cons

It is quite a shock that the company has been existent as a SI for so many years, but there are no established processes and knowledge management content and hence, standards differ very much among similar projects. Though there are training courses available, but they are not made mandatory to some crucial roles like PMs, where many don't even know what are the basic tools or processes in the company.
Cost cutting is strictly observed for the sake of doing it and there are no replacement of headcount even there are resignation cases and only when customers start banging tables and escalate to the sky, then the replacement request will be acceded. There is no investment in building the capabilities nor retention of good staff, but yet management will question why projects are not won.
Internal politics struggle among team in meeting their own agenda and revenue targets, and there is no synergy working among teams to leverage on each other's offerings and strength.
There are no KPIs enforced in performance appraisal and top down goals replicated from management to the staff. However, revenue targets given to the team are usually unachievable and unbelievable.

    Advice to Management

Please step back and relook into the structure of the whole company. The company needs a strong person at the top with the relevant experience, vision and foresight, as well as understanding to drive this company back to the right path.

    Pros

Some of the colleagues are very nice. The roti prata at the canteen is awesome. Also, there are plenty of people who somehow manage to find time to sleep at A2 and the rec room, so if you want to kun, you can go there.

    Cons

Lots of politicking so work performance doesn't matter. Some departments do not set out KPIs at all for the year, so your performance appraisal totally depends on how much your boss likes you. So in spite of working hard for the company, at the end of the day, it's obvious the 'high performers' are the ones who go out with the boss for breakfast, lunch, coffee, smoke break, dinner!

Also, the English and grammar used in this company is atrocious. When you pick up any brochure at the lobby to read, you have no idea what they're trying to say because it's all a bunch of IT jargon put together and you still don't know what the product is. It's pretty embarrassing especially when you have potential foreign clients.

Please do yourself a favour and try out at an MNC if you want to go into IT. At least they have KPIs and legitimate appraisals.

    Advice to Management

Seriously look into your performance appraisal system. It's really a joke. Also, don't you know that employees who transfer to another department are always given a very bad performance review by their previous department?

    Pros

Very flexible work arrangement (at least in my department) as long as u get the job done, the bosses have no complains about you.

    Cons

Limited opportunities for career progression, and sometimes effort is not recognised as your reporting officer may not be fully aware of what u are doing.

    Advice to Management

Provide more opportunities for advancement and have a more robust system in place to recognize efforts of employees.

    Pros

Low increase, sometimes high bonus but does not apply to all.

    Cons

High demand of your time. Consultants need to work long hours. Sometimes 34 hours during delivery period.

    Advice to Management

Need to take care of the foot soldiers. Many IT Managers are useless. They don't work much and team lead does not even work well. Managers give the task to team leads and they go home early, team leads give their supposed to be task but instead delegated it to the developers then they go home early. Developers stay late and left to starve. A few pm and leads are good though. This review is not for the company but I'm doing this to inform the management that many employees in this company is incompetent. Company is good but the managing work force is bad.
