I have been working at NCS full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Reasonably ok Cafeteria, air conditioning, washrooms are clean
Wide experience working in different projects for different clients
Example of a government company.. can definitely retire here

    Cons

low salary, no growth, lots of work.
Hard work never compensated in terms of aspiration grooming and salary hike
Don't expect you will be recognized for innovative ideas.
Most management do not know to speak decent english
focus on terminating employee than trying to place them in other projects
unless you really really have no other option, never prefer this company... and plan to leave it asap. there is no carreer growth. do not spoil your career by joining this god forsaken company .

I worked at NCS full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good colleagues, who are really trying to make something out of their job.

    Cons

    - horrible politics. Management seemed more intent on looking for someone to blame when things go wrong, then to fix underlying problems. Yelling and screaming is an acceptable way for bosses. Pleasing your bosses and to be blue-eye boy/girl is the guarantee way to get good ratings and bonuses.
    - HR policies not well thought through and sucks at explaining to staff. Don't think they really care about employees. Appeared to put a lot of emphasis in streamlining recruiting process since retention is a hopeless case.
    - bureacracy. sigh, worst than stat boards that become our client

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop showing there is a very clear class difference between sales and the rest, and don't just stay in the ivory towers in A5. the peoples are the one who worked hard for NCS to stay afloat. Do show more care and concern, they are not just worker bees.

I have been working at NCS full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I do not have any pros to talk about this company. This company really deserve every single negative reviews listed here.

    Cons

    - I do see people getting promoted every year or two years just because they know their Manager
    - Employees first, customer second ... said no one ever
    - If some one becomes the manager then they just work on outlook to delegate the tasks by sending emails or shouting match
    - Politics, Politics..Politics. They play around with the resources.
    - Poor work environment
    - Micro-management ... and loud shoutings

I have been working at NCS

    Pros

    Many opportunities in govt projects
Many training courses available (though may not always have the budget or time to sign up)

    Cons

It is quite a shock that the company has been existent as a SI for so many years, but there are no established processes and knowledge management content and hence, standards differ very much among similar projects. Though there are training courses available, but they are not made mandatory to some crucial roles like PMs, where many don't even know what are the basic tools or processes in the company.
Cost cutting is strictly observed for the sake of doing it and there are no replacement of headcount even there are resignation cases and only when customers start banging tables and escalate to the sky, then the replacement request will be acceded. There is no investment in building the capabilities nor retention of good staff, but yet management will question why projects are not won.
Internal politics struggle among team in meeting their own agenda and revenue targets, and there is no synergy working among teams to leverage on each other's offerings and strength.
There are no KPIs enforced in performance appraisal and top down goals replicated from management to the staff. However, revenue targets given to the team are usually unachievable and unbelievable.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please step back and relook into the structure of the whole company. The company needs a strong person at the top with the relevant experience, vision and foresight, as well as understanding to drive this company back to the right path.
